Found near the popular Escalante Canyon area of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in the quaint town of Escalante, Utah, The Old Bailey Place offers guests the opportunity to stay in a restored 1890 pioneer cabin. The cabin is open seasonally from March through October and was meticulously renovated in 2017 with modern amenities in such a way as to retain its authentic and cozy appeal. The cabin, sleeping a maximum of two people, features a bedroom with a queen bed, a private interior bathroom with a claw foot tub, a private outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a full kitchen, complimentary wireless internet, and a comfortable indoor sitting area.
On the exterior of the cabin, gardens surround the cabin. Fruits and veggies can even be harvested by guests for their meals if in season. The outside of the cabin also includes front and back porches to view the surrounding gardens and mountains and some of the darkest skies in the United States.
Living on an adjoining property, the hosts of The Old Bailey Place are eager to share their local knowledge of the area, including hiking suggestions and restaurant options in Escalante. They even provide complimentary daily bread and homemade bath products.
The Old Bailey Place is a memorable place for lodging while experiencing the unique beauty of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, or even as a much more quiet base to visit Bryce Canyon National Park (1 hour away) or Capitol Reef National Park (1.5 hours away).

The Old Bailey Place is a restored pioneer cabin with modern amenities. The one-bedroom cabin comes with a queen bed and sleeps up to two people. The cabin includes a private bathroom with a claw foot tub. For showering there is a large, private outdoor shower with hot and cold water. The cabin is also equipped with a full kitchen to cook meals, a comfortable sitting area, free WiFi, and heat & air conditioning. To enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the dark night skies, guests can sit outside on the front or back porch. Note: the cabin does not have a television or a washer/dryer. The cabin is also not pet-friendly. There is a two-night minimum stay for the cabin.
