The hotel was fine…. Typical hotel/motel room but you are here for the view not the accommodations. We were glad we stayed one nite and did a guided tour….no rushing. Hotel restaurant was marginal at best but again convenience trumps cuisine here. Pricy but worth the splurge. Note: staff were for the most part friendly and accommodating.

Best choice for a stay when visiting Monument Valley

The view hotel has the best view of the Mittens. Full stop. The next nearest alternative accomodation (Gouldings?) is miles away. Despite having a monopoly on the accomodation choices in Monument Valley, unlike our stay at Ruby's Best Western in Bryce Canyon, we found the staff to be really friendly and pleasant and the facilities fit for purpose. Seriously, we interacted with quite a few and found them all welcoming and kind. The rooms and parts of the hotel feel a little dated, but are more than adequate for what you need. And besides we are in a remote location here, not downtown in a major city centre. Architecturally the hotel is beautifully designed… it tries to be unobtrusive within its surroundings and not be a blot on the horizon, whilst at the same time it tries to maximise the various views of the Valley. The hotel was kept spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was a solid effort, with the usual mix of toast, cereals, yoghurt and some hot food options (beans, eggs, bacon etc). Self-service. We really enjoyed our stay here and would hope to return one day.

The most beautiful hotel I have ever slept in, very quiet and peaceful, very well decorated in native American decor, was not expecting the peaceful feeling I got there.A bit pricey but worth it, I did stay on the first floor but still had an awesome view

Okay. I'm giving this place 5 stars, but it's not your usual 5 stars, so let me be up front about that. First, a couple of things you should know. The walls in the main hotel are very thin. You can hear people sneeze, shower, converse, and, if you're not on the top floor, walking around in the room above you. Food choices for dinner are not great, so if you're a picky eater, bring your own. That being said, when I pulled back the room curtains and saw the view, I wanted to cry. I have never seen anything more stunning in my life. I'm not exaggerating. It's breathtaking. Every room has a little porch with a table and chairs. There is also a microwave and a small refrigerator in the room. So, bring your own food, sit outside, and take it all in. It's just amazing. Breakfast is pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, eggs, sausage. Plenty of choices. There is a trading post with a wide variety of art to choose from, and your hotel reservation comes with a discount to use toward a purchase in the trading post. I would recommend upgrading to a premium (unobstructed) view room. This is a once-in-a-lifetime view. Don't miss it. Don't miss the drive through the valley either. It's an entirely different experience than seeing it from the top. An all-wheel drive vehicle would be a good idea here. It's a rough road, dirt, with some deep ruts. They do have small group tours you can take that leave very frequently. Folks, this is an amazing place on the Navajo reservation. What an incredible opportunity. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Good breakfast. An amazing experience.

Very well built and set up hotel in the middle of Monument Valley. A bit pricey, but you pay for the location. Very comfortable beds and room. There was a nice view of the sunset from the hallway balconies or on the ground. The rooms faced the East and offered a dramatic view of the night landscape under a very bright moon. With some camera adjustments, I got some great photos. Nice restaurant with great service. The only concern was that the room safe was bolted to the bottom of the tv cabinet. Essentially, it was on the floor. If you wanted to use it, you had to lie with your face on the floor to set the code and see where you were putting your valuables. Of course, you had to do the same thing to open the safe. There has to be a better place to bolt that safe. Nice gift shop with some pricey items, but with some of the prices offset with signs providing a 40-50% discount (which simply says they were overpriced to that degree in the first place) combined with the $20 gift certificate that comes with the room, we did buy a nicely framed picture. The breakfast was included and was a little short of being the best possible. But still good. Overall, a very clean, comfortable hotel in a very desirable location.
