This hotel is designed for someone who loves outdoors activities. The fireplace in the lobby was kept on pretty much an entire day which makes it nice and cozy place for gathering or reading a book. The rooms are nice size but to get there, you will have to use many steps, so be prepare for meeting your “steps” goal daily. The room was clean and we always had plenty of extra towels. We stayed there in the end of September, which is considered off season, so the restaurant and a bar were closed, which is inconvenient, but if you would like to get an Uber/Lift rides to Whitefish, they are very much available. Breakfast was available daily and provided items such as different variety of cereal, milk, orange/apple juice, hard boiled eggs, some lunch meat/cheese, fruits, blueberry muffins and some other breakfast pastries. There was a toaster for assortment of breads and a nice choice of jellies and spreads. The breakfast area was very well attended and re-stocked regularly so every guest had the same variety of items. Hot coffee is available in the lobby through the day. We also had a coffee maker in our room. The icemaker is in the lobby of the hotel by the breakfast area, so if you like to get some ice, you will have to walk all these steps again! There are few vending machines and washer/drier placed to the icemaker. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

We came to the area to go to

Loved the overall mountaintop feel of the lodge. Cozy, comfortable rooms, large attractive lounge area and very good breakfast. Right near good hiking trails. Would love to have spent more time there.

We paid WAAYYY too much for this place!

I loved the idea of this historic lodge, it was so beautiful in the pictures! The location worked great for us and the lofted rooms gave us the extra space we were looking for for our larger family. Unfortunately this lodge has seen better days. The room was fairly clean, beds were pretty comfortable, but restaurant and bar were closed, and many things were out of order while we were there. The outdoor hot tub was nice. The rooms weren’t the cleanest, lobby bathroom needed a scrub, breakfast was limited and in a very small space so we had to wait for tables, and the staff was not friendly. We seemed to be inconveniencing them when we would ask a simple question like how to get to the hot tub. (The layout is a bit funky so you have to access things from particular staircases.). It was a beautiful old lodge in its day, but I’m not sure if they are in the progress of a sale or if they need to be. I hope someone puts some

Not worth the money. Very expensive stay for a mediocre room. NO ELEVATOR!! Our room was on the 3rd floor. Worst thing was there was an old window A/C unit that was extremely loud. Maybe a $100 room, and paid $464.

Not a good experience

We were very disappointed in this lodge for several reasons. We could not get the television to receive major channels. Even asked the staff to help. They put us on the third floor with no elevator. The room had slatted ceilings so we bumped our heads several times. The sink in the bathroom drained very slowly. We paid a high price for this stay and we’re very disappointed. We asked as we checked out for a discount on our rate due to all of these situations and the man at the desk refused.
