They made a mistake with our reservation made 6 months in advance and didn't fix it.

I booked a stay for July 14-18, 2024 for my family. In January 2024, we decided to change our reservation to July 7-11, 2024. I received a confirmation email confirming this. According to client relations for IHG the reservation was changed back to the original dates in April in error. However, the hotel is now full on those dates and is unwilling to honor our reservation two days before we are to leave on our family trip. The hotel offered us nothing for this and left us scrambling to try to find somewhere else to stay. This is the worst experience I have ever had with an IHG hotel and will never chose to stay with them again. All reservation stuff was done direct with IHG and so not sure what the benefit is going to a chain if their systems fail in this manner.

Pathetic Service

My rating would be poor vice terrible except for the high cost of this property. Having said that. Upon check-in to a King "Deluxe" Suite I found the room did not have any wash clothes, hand towels, or bath mat. It took three visits to Reception to resolve the issue. On the third visit Reception finally called someone from housekeeping. I watched with amusement as they tried to use a mobile phone app to communicate in Spanish on what was needed. On my second day, I went to Reception to ask them to refill the shower's body wash dispenser or if that was not possible to provide a bar of soap. No action taken. The hotel did provide four (4) complimentary breakfast coupons. I only used two... on my last day. I had an omelet which was small and not well made. The breakfast potatoes... lukewarm and of a buffet standard. On one night I ate at the Branch restaurant. I asked for a bowl of chili to be followed by a burger. Despite my request... both came at the same time. I sent the burger back and had them remake it after my chili. I ordered a beer that never came. Bottom line. Unacceptable level of service at all levels especially given the cost. This property also charges a $15 a night "amenity fee" which is a rip-off and completely unjustified.

The hotel itself was clean and in an excellent location for Yellowstone. But the restaurant attached to it is dire. The Branch. The service is bad forgot to give us menus, our drinks order and cutlery. When the drinks came the waiter split the beer on the table and didn’t wipe it up. So the liquid got nearer my husband and we had to go get a cloth to clean it up. We didn’t eat there again. Shame otherwise it could have had a better review.

A good base in West Yellowstone

This is one of the few branded hotels in West Yellowstone, which is the western gate of Yellowstone National Park. The hotel is located conveniently just down the street from the park and has plenty of parking. I stayed here once in 2015 and apparently the hotel was recently renovated, but I don't really see it. The decor looks much the same and the hotel still feels really dated. The rooms aren't lit very well (which seems to be a problem with a lot of Holiday Inns - don't understand why they can't provide more lighting). But nonetheless, the room was clean, large, and comfortable. The hotel has a restaurant (The Branch) attached to it. Went there for breakfast but they were only serving buffet and I seriously would not recommend it. It's basically what you get for free at a Holiday Inn Express, but you have to pay for it. At least the server was really nice. Overall, this is a decent hotel to act as a base for Yellowstone. It's clean and comfortable and has free parking. Restaurant aside, my only negative experience was checking in. The lady at the counter was very cold and didn't understand seem to understand that I had two separate reservations (booked one night with free night cert and another using cash), so the check-in process took a really long time. Other than that, my interactions with the rest of the staff were all really positive.

This hotel was a nice surprise. Very convenient to Yellowstone park entrance and walking distance to a number of casual restaurants. Front desk staff was very informative. Clean rooms and hallways, and decor seems new or updated. Plenty of parking in front and back with key card entries close by. The Branch (restaurant that is part of the hotel) was average for dinner but I won't change my rating for that. If you are looking for brand name hotels in West Yellowstone, this may be one of only a few choices.
