I managed to get a room for 2 nights on May 10 and 11 in a small building that OVERLOOKED THE YELLOWSTONE RIVER!!! And it had a window that opened! You could not hear the river (that was 5 weeks before June '22 DEVASTATING FLOOD) with window closed, but you could hear it with window open. And .... a female elk came to graze about 15 feet below me!! I LOVED IT.

We stayed in 2 cabins. They were both spotless and beautifully furnished. Everything worked and we enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal here, taking walks by the river close by. We loved the view from the rooftop veranda ( each cabin has one) with plenty of room for our family of 4 to sit and enjoy ourselves. Very easy and a 5 minute drive to the North Gate of Yellowstone. The staff was accessible by text or phone if we had any questions. i honestly do not know why you'd stay anywhere else!

Great view and good service

We were there in May before the floods but the hotel was right on the river with nice views. The rooms were comfortable. Loved that the wildlife just strolled through parking lot. It is a good base for visiting Yellowstone as it is only a couple miles from entrance. The bar food was ok but the restaurant was closed so I cannot speak to that. The morning breakfast was buffet style and was ok. Hotel was in walking distance to a grocery store, other restaurants and the visitor center. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

We arrived at the Ridgeline on the afternoon of 12 June. We had to dodge around rocks on the road from Yellowstone. Shortly after we passed, the road was closed. Then the river washed out the only other way in or out of Gardiner (hwy 89 to the north). We spent two nights at the Ridgeline. The people there could not have been nicer.

Four nights and no problems

I don't understand some of the recent negative reviews. We go to Yellowstone every year and have stayed in nearly all the properties in Gardiner and in the park and we found the Ridgeline to be on a par with almost every other property. Gardiner, Montana isn't a 5-star area! As for cost, it's well-known that Yellowstone is very expensive if you don't book far in advance. Don't expect a great deal if you wait until later to book -- if you can find anything available at all. We always book 6-12 months in advance. We stayed 4 nights and had absolutely no problems. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Because of Covid there was no daily housekeeping (but we've found that to be the case all around the country in the last 2 years). Anything we needed was supplied quickly and with no problem at all. The shower had nice pressure and plenty of hot water. Our room was spacious, clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We didn't need the heat, but the A/C worked fine. We used the pool 3 times and it was well maintained and clean.. The only possible improvement I would ask for is to have breakfast included or at least an offer of "grab and go". Instead, there is a breakfast buffet offered for $14.95. We took advantage of that once, but all the other mornings we just had fruit etc. in our room. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.
