This hotel is conveniently located and offers breakfast (although it was stripped bare by the time we got there). PROS: -Fairly comfortable beds -Passable blackout curtains -Indoor pool area open late (and separate from main hotel) CONS: -Carpeting is in need of replacement -large stone shelf in shower is at just the right level to konk you in the head if you're not careful stepping in

I typically do not leave unfavorable reviews, but I feel strong about this subject. Though built in 1990, the hotel always took pride in the upkeep and maintenance of the building and landscaping. I am assuming it is under new ownership or management because the flowerbeds are empty except for dead weeds and bushes, the trash was overflowing in front, grass was all dead, wallpaper was peeling, (need I continue?). Very sad to see. Will not be returning.

Overall, this was a good to great hotel. The room was nice. Bed was large and comfortable. Artwork was themed to Mesa Verde Native American style, which was fun. My wife especially liked the mirror in the bathroom area. Breakfast was great. Large breakfast area and lots to choose from. Cinnamon rolls were very good. Pancake machine was kind of fun (but set to a little too lite for my taste...i'd rather it was cooked a little more). Fruit, juices, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Only complaint was check in. We got there at about 8:30, which is late but not that late. There was no one at the front desk. We called around the corner, no one. I actually called the hotel in my phone, and the phone right in front of us rang and rang, and no one answered. Eventually someone came, but we had been waiting for close to 10 minutes.

My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Cortez, Colorado while we were on a road trip from Park city Utah to Albuquerque New Mexico. We stayed one night and it was one of the best experiences we had on our road trip. The front desk staff was friendly and informative. It was quiet and clean so we enjoyed a restful night’s sleep. The most memorable part was the breakfast, which was included in the room rate. The breakfast had everything we could imagine from fresh cooked pancakes to hot sausage and scrambled eggs, four kinds of juices, etc.. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express, and I recommend joining their IHG rewards program.

This is a very old, very tired and dated Holiday Inn Express. It's dark and dingy and nothing like the IHG's that we stay at. The room was tiny and the cleaning standards are low. (The sheets were clean thankfully!) There are signs posted stating that they are updating the property but I saw no evidence of any work being done. Not sure this place is worthy of the IHG brand. The breakfast was surprisingly good and the attendant was very pleasant. We moved across the street to the Hampton Inn for our second night, it was only four bucks a night more and worth it.
