It was our first time to Yellowstone and we weren't sure where to stay- Silver Gate turned out to be perfect! Aside from its amazing location (the Lamar Valley is incredible!) the cabin was so cute, very clean, and the full kitchen with dishes, etc. was more than we even expected. Beds were really comfortable and the heat (which we had to turn on when it snowed one night) kept the whole place cozy and comfy. The front desk people are friendly and knowledgeable - I can't wait to come back and stay again!

Two wonderful stays this summer!

We actually stayed here twice this summer...early July and early August. Whispering Pines cabin #10 along the creek/river was amazing! Private fire pit looking towards the creek, comfy bed, nice little kitchen and decent sized bathroom. It’s rustic compared to fancy hotels, but nice and clean...it’s perfect for feeling like you’re in nature with creature comforts! It’s so easy to take a quick trip into the Lamar Valley to see wildlife in the morning and evening, since it’s a mile to the entrance. We drove and hiked in. Cooke City is a few minutes away for restaurants, shops, and internet is available at the chamber of commerce. Firewood was provided for fire pit. Our other stay was Silver Gate Cabin #3. It was similar to Whispering Pines, except there were two beds and a smaller bathroom, as well as it was on the other side of the road. We had bison around our cabin both days! It had a covered porch, which was nice with the rain. Again very clean and comfy beds. Both cabins were lovely for our stays and we look forward to returning soon! Additional info...close to Chief Joseph Hwy and Beartooth Hwy which are amazing drives or bike rides (my husband rode both and said they were amazing).

We stayed three nights on a recent visit to Yellowstone. The cabins are just one mile from the Northeast entrance which is optimal for accessing the Lamar Valley and wildlife watching. One evening a bison wandered through the campground. We stayed in the Schoolhouse, which had fun rustic decor, a fully equipped kitchen, and nice sized bathroom. In addition, there was an eating area for two, front porch with rockers, fire pit with chairs, and a grill. If you stay for three or more nights, a spotting scope is included but be sure to call ahead and reserve so that one will be set aside for you. The atmosphere here is peaceful and quiet with great views right outside your cabin. If I were staying again, I would plan more time to just relax and soak up the atmosphere. The town is extremely small, but there is a cafe directly across the street if you don't feel like cooking. I also highly recommend enjoying an ice cream treat from the Stop the Car general store across the road.

We stayed at Silver Gate for 6 nights. Used it as a base to explore Yellowstone as well as the Beartooth Mtns (lovely, highly recommend). We were excited to find several local hikes, waterfalls and lakes within walking distance and endless more an easy drive away. There were bison, Fox, marmots, Elk, deer and even Mountain Goats nearby (some in the yard but could watch the goats with a spotting scope). Nice cabins with full kitchen, fire pit, grill and picnic table. Made for the perfect vacation for our family of 6 (children ages 11,10,8 and 5)

My husband and I stayed here for one night in the motel on our trip through Yellowstone and over the Beartooth Pass. It was so clean and had everything we needed. So quiet at night we had a great nights sleep, free coffee in the morning and nice quaint and cozy spot to lay our heads down. Even saw a huge bison in back munching on grass by the cabins.
