Here’s a polished rephrasing of your experience: ⸻ My family, along with my brother and his wife, booked two domes during their soft opening. They were kind enough to reserve domes right next to each other. When we arrived, the view was absolutely breathtaking and surreal. The domes were spaced out beautifully in a canyon nestled between two mountains. Check-in was quick and seamless, and our son was bursting with excitement to get inside our dome. We were given a passcode for entry—though it took a couple of tries to unlock and required a bit of firmness to fully close the door. Inside, the dome was stunning, and the view was even more incredible. The bedroom faced the mountain and offered plenty of privacy. The main dome serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; we only had breakfast and dinner since we spent most of our days exploring nearby Bryce Canyon. The food was tasty, and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. I’d recommend bringing snacks and drinks for the kids ahead of time, as the nearest grocery store is about a 20-minute drive. If your dome includes a fireplace, they provide pre-packed s’mores kits—which are a great touch, especially on clear nights! Overall, it was a fantastic experience we won’t forget.

Has potential, but lacked attention to detail for the price

After seeing the various social media posts about Clear Sky, we decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. We traveled with another family so we ended up booking their largest dome, the Andromeda. Upon arriving at the property, it felt like we were in a sci fi film with all the dome habitats. The roads entering the property were gravel and were fine for our SUV and sedan. We found the front desk dome and the check in process was pretty straightforward. We received a binder with some information about the dome, our door code, and then drove a short distance from the main dome to our dome. We entered our dome and were amazed at the size of the interior. There was an adequate amount of space for our entire party. The beddings were nicely set up and the bathrooms were clean and neat. There was a nice “living room” area for us to congregate in. Unfortunately, after getting settled, we ran into multiple issues that negatively impacted our overall experience. First off, though the first floor was nicely cooled from their AC units, the second floor was very warm and was very uncomfortable to stay in during the day. We blasted the AC on the second floor all day and it never got cool enough until late in the evening. Secondly, the dome itself had a lot of imperfections and issues. There were holes drilled and filled on the steps, shower stalls that didn’t self drain and required us to “push” the water into the drain, showers that would drip all day, the ventilation window that would not open (which then trapped hot air in the dome), and the AC in one of the bedrooms dripped water throughout our entire stay. We talked to the Frontdesk about the ventilation window and the dripping AC. All that was done was the removal of the broken motor from the window and for the dripping AC, they just placed stacks of towels under the AC unit to catch the water. Though they advertised WiFi on the property, the WiFi was effectively non existent. The only “reliable” WiFi was in the main Frontdesk dome. In general, this wouldn’t have been too much of an issue, but the only way to reach the Frontdesk from our dome was to call them. But with no cell reception and no WiFi, we had no way to reach the Frontdesk. We ended up having to drive to the main Frontdesk multiple times to raise issues and to get supplies. Oddly, with what little WiFi we were able to get in our dome, the only messages that came through were all the text messages from Clear Sky marketing their additional activities and amenities. We did end up having dinner at the property and at least that experience and the food was good. We sat outside in the evening and the weather was great for outside dining. We did talk to the front desk about our key issues and we asked what they could do to make up for the issues. Their only offer to me was complimentary breakfast, but oddly, only for half of our party. For a “luxury” resort and for the price we paid, they could have at least offered to cover our entire party. The individual who I raised the issues to said that they would leave a message for the manager to contact me. But unfortunately, I never receive a call from the manager. Overall, though the dome was a unique experience, I am not sure that Clear Sky met the expectations that they had try to set especially given the price of their accomodations.

It was truly exceptional. One of the highlights was the effortless access to nearby hiking trails, which allowed us to immerse ourselves in nature's beauty. The hotel's proximity to these trails made it easy to step out and explore.

Go here if you like the "idea" of camping

A very Unique place for those who like the "idea" of camping, but still prefer creature comforts. The AC has to work real hard when it is hot out, and is somewhat slow to change temps. Our shower door leaked a bit on one side, so the bathmat was soaked after every shower. Bed was super comfy, but we were missing a sheet for our stay. Because of weather, didn't really get to see any stars. Coffee in the room was absolutely horrid...they need to really get a Keurig or drip coffeemaker for the room if they are going to charge what they do for these domes (thank goodness we paid much less when we booked at soft opening). Also, book a dome with a deck and firepit. Those tend to be towards the back and some are more private; otherwise you might get a dome where everyone is driving right by you, which would suck. We didn't eat dinner there because the prices were crazy high. Instead we drove the 5 miles to Tropic and dined there instead. There are also at least 4 remotes in the room, but no directions whatsoever, so there's that...Overall, the concept is great and it is a cool place for what we paid, but needs it needs tweaking to make up for the expensive price. They should start with upping up their coffee game, and providing some in -room directions for all of the remotes for those who are technology challenged.

We stayed in the Big Dipper Dome for 2 nights. Check in was terrible and clumsy. We did arrive on check in time and there was a massive queue. The reception staff were having IT issues where they couldn’t locate our booking and scan our credit card for incidentals. My advice to the two owners is to make a larger reception area where staff are welcoming and professional. While people are waiting to check in, give them an iPad with a video explaining the features and mechanisms of the domes so it’s not repeated with every check in that slows down the check in process. The Domes are very clean and unique. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is spacious. However the little kitchenette provided has no drinking classes, no cutlery, no plates or bowls, no tea towels or dish washing detergent. These are essential items you must supply if you have installed a mini kitchen for guests to use ( bizarrely there a plenty of drawers and cupboards to store these items). The restaurant is a real letdown. The food was ok but the staff are inexperienced and have no management to guide them. There was ongoing training happening whilst they were taking orders. Extremely second rate and unprofessional. My advice to the owners is to have a manager that keeps an eye on the efficiency of the waiting staff and set clear roles for those working in the restaurant. There was a lot of standing around chatting and no thought to clear the tables. The decor was also out of scale. The dining tables were too high and the dining chairs too low and is outdated.
