My husband and I stayed here several years ago with a very positive experience. It is a beautiful property. So why a poor rating? Guests that anticipate a wonderful experience and CLEAN room must be warned. I called prior to our visit and explained that I have severe mold allergies and could they please assure a clean room with no visible mold. I was told that their cleaning standards during covid were very high. Not so! The drapes were very soiled at the bottom all the way across the bottom, several inches high (did they have a water intrusion incident at that sliding door??) and there was dirt/possibly mold on the floor under the a/c unit. See pictures. The night manager removed the drapes and cleaned the floor under the a/c the best as she could. When she wiped the floor and the drapes, the clorox wipes were filthy! The manager the next day heard about the situation, came to assess the situation and had the room thoroughly cleaned while we were out for the day. She was very responsive and professional. They blamed it on covid. While I appreciate all of that, there is NO excuse for a room of this caliber of a hotel to be offered to a guest. Let alone a guest that called ahead regarding a request to double check the room. It is clearly a failure of management and quality control. I have NEVER had this kind of experience at a hotel at even much lower a caliber. That is why I gave it a POOR rating. This property is so special, it's a shame this has happened. We are truly sad. If back in Moab, we will likeky eat at the restaurant, which was very good, but we will be staying at a Hilton.

Truth: We will return to Red Cliffs Lodge. Sitting out on the deck and watching the colors change in the evenings, the local trails, everything about the location was amazing. We had no issues with anything Covid related. everyone was doing their best. With this said this place is a long way from any options for food. Especially right now with the highway into Moab under construction. So their restaurant is pretty much it. Breakfast is fine although they could pay much closer attention to temps and pars and freshness on their hot buffet. Dinner? Honestly, Terrible. The food is uninspired, under-seasoned, bad. Sysco ingredients and sauces. We dreaded dinner... But we would still go back. We would just figure out how many different things we can cook with the microwave and the toaster in the room... And then this place is fantastic.

Beautiful hotel, but not safe during COVID

This is a gorgeous location and a lovely hotel. However, we came to Moab as a bit of a COVID getaway from the big City, and were surprised to see the lack of attention by the hotel to the Pandemic. Breakfast was only available as a crowded, indoor self-serve buffet, and honestly was just scary. In many Cities, the hotel would have been fined and shut down for serving people in this way. Also, since there was no room service or other breakfast option at the hotel (town is a 30 minute car ride away), we were not able to eat breakfast while we were there. (The take out dinner meals were delicious.) We worried whether this lack of the pandemic awareness affected other services at the hotel, and thus will not be returning or recommending this hotel until well past Covid.

We were welcomed by two fabulous front desk women who helped us immensely in our time of need right as a storm was about to hit. We threw everything from our campsite into our car and headed to the first hotel we could find. The Red Cliffs Lodge was more than accommodating, providing cookies, amenities, and directions to our room. Would recommend to anyone staying in Moab!

Located in a gorgeous part of Moab, Red Cliffs Lodge is a unique gem. I completely agree with Andy H's review, especially regarding the Lodge and the region around Hwy128 & Castle Valley. Professors valley is equally stunning. This was our first time at Red Cliffs and Moab, and we've already made a reservation for next year. Although the views are better from the suites, my husband and I prefer the cabin's privacy. We also like the Western motif--not pretentious, just colorful and rustically elegant. We loved dining on the terrace and watching wildlife. The view is ever changing and spectacular. Excellent food and menu selections too. Service was great. We appreciated the very thoughtful staff who are all so cheerful & helpful. One of my girlfriends has been coming here for 15 yrs, since they opened. Wish I'd listened to her sooner ! Don't miss the winery & Western Museum ! Both were fun and informative. Sadly we didn't have time to horseback ride--next time ! So many activities are available you can stay and never leave, or go into Moab proper , for that matter. Lots to do nearby--hiking rafting.... The National and State parks are only about 30 minutes away. Can't think of anything I would change. The bed was comfortable --important to us older folks !
