Really enjoyed our visit to Grouse Mountain Lodge. It’s a beautiful Lodge full of attractive seating areas, nice pool, on the golf course, nice gift shop and good restaurant. Delicious chopped Caesar salad prepared quite uniquely. They have the best shuttle service in vans to and from town of Whitefish. We walked to town and caught the shuttle back. Used the shuttle four times and only had to wait once when they were tied up at the airport. That is a really, really nice service and the drivers were so nice. This is a great location and lovely stay.

Big Disappointment

The lodge itself was very nice. The room was very blah. The decor and room were very dated but the bathroom was nice. Walls and ceiling are very thin and we could hear people walking upstairs until 12:45 AM. Bartender in the lounge was very abrupt and not very pleasant. Don’t think I will stay there again

Convenient and cozy place to start and end a trip to Glacier NP

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights before and after a trip to Glacier National Park. We chose the hotel because it’s where our tour with Backroads travel was picking up and dropping off. It was very convenient for that reason. The hotel made it easy to arrange an airport shuttle to and from Kalispell. The shuttle driver, J.R., was friendly and helpful about local things to do, and drove us again into downtown Whitefish when we needed a lift. The lodge has an old west feel, with big fireplaces, taxidermy, and vintage photos on the hallway walls. There’s an outdoor hot tub and indoor pool, which we did not use but probably would have if traveling with kids. We stayed in a king corner room, which was very comfortable and spacious. There were just a couple of downsides to our visit, which were minor. One was that, although the use of free bikes is offered, I found you have to check out the bikes out early in the day — when I tried to get one in the afternoon, they were all checked out. Another downside was that the breakfast buffet could be replenished more often. At least 2 of the 3 mornings, they were out of fruit or yogurt. The staff was quick to replace things when they noticed, but with the busy dining room it sometimes took a while. These small downsides were probably just a product of being there during the busy season. The pros far outweighed the cons. All in all this is a great starting and ending point for a Glacier NP visit.

Great location. Good accommodations with spa, pool, gift shop, restaurant and bar on location. Staff was most helpful.
