We were excited to stay in this unique setting and impressed by the frequent emails/texts leading up to our stay. Unfortunately the experience was not what we expected. It was hard to find the tiny number for our dome in the dark, lugging suitcases across a gravel parking lot. Once there, we found a useless, cheap telescope with pieces on the floor and no hanging swing as advertised. When we inquired about this, we were told simply that « some had broken » . We looked forward to enjoying the evening in the welcome tent, but there were so many pillows on the cushions, it was difficult to sit there and although they had some games and food available, the rattan tables were not solid surfaces upon which to rest things safely. While the food truck food tasted good ; it was outrageously expensive and since the dining dome was closed, there wasn’t a great place to eat it! We were fortunate to be there on a night with live music and that was the highlight of our stay - it could have been more so if they hadn’t run out of propane to light the decorative fire table on a very cold night. The shower in the dome was also very nice, but house keeping had not even emptied the mini fridge from the previous guests! We had to check out early the next morning, so we left without seeing any Clear Sky reps.

A unique experience!

Let me start by saying, I’m not a camper! I was sold on this experience from the website and a piece on our news channel. I thought because there’s a bed, heat, air conditioning and indoor plumbing in each dome I could give Glamping a try so I decided to reserve our stay for my birthday celebration. There is a resort fee charge for this resort. 😜😂🤣 did I say I’m not a camper! We checked in about 4:30pm and our dome was really hot but about 6:00 it felt great. The accommodations were just as I saw them online. What they don’t tell you is the chairs are so uncomfortable!!! When you sit your ass will kiss your heels. As I celebrate my 70th birthday my knees are not fond of hyper-flexion. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I was warned that it gets cold at night and it was to cold to enjoy s’mores outside. The food truck opened at 6 and there’s only a few seats outside for dining. It was to cold and dark to dine outside so we took our food back to the dome. Thought it was safe to order a burger with chips. The burger had two strips of unidentifiable meat on top. Guess it was suppose to be bacon, I removed it and ate about 1/3 of the burger but the chips were great! 😜 Did not try the food truck for breakfast so we drove the 30 miles to Williams Az for breakfast. A much better choice. When the sun went down it was cold and dark, a darkness I’ve never experienced but the night sky was amazing! The stars were so clear, through the clear plastic portion of the dome. The temperature dropped down to 28 during the night and the heat couldn’t keep up! My fleece onesie with a hood and foot covering felt good! The floor was cold and so was the bathroom because we closed the door to keep the heat in the sleeping area. Hubby likes to hike and his head lantern came in handy at night. People walked the trails using there phones for light. Oh hubby could charge his phone bedside but my iPhone 13 I had to use an outlet in the bathroom. I grew up in a big city so my review is somewhat biased, did I say I’m not a camper. 😜I would prefer a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel with all the amenities probably about the same rate but that’s just me. You will never see the stars like this in the city because of all the lights. I’ve grown accustomed to lights, paved roads and walkways. One more thing, there isn’t markings/ sign for Highgrove Rd. off of 64 and we would have missed it without GPS. That’s where you leave pavement and drive down a dirt road. Hope you found this review insightful even from someone who prefers Time Square to Glamping! Have fun.

Cool place with terrible service

The staff simply do not care about anything. With some good management, this place would be great. One example, I walked into reception, two employees were talking and did not even acknowledge me and I was the only one there. They both started to walk away and one said "you need something". That was my first impression and it held true for our stay. There is a food truck but don't plan on eating there as they are trying to figure things out and run out of food.

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful spot, huge rooms, close to the Grand Canyon. Rooms were so clean and amazing experience to sleep under the stars. It was the best night of sleep we have had in ages. Woke up and watched the sunrise the next morning. Highly recommend!

Different and cozy at night

My wife and I wanted to try something different so we stayed at the Domes. We had the hanging bed room. The dome had a great bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. Would have been nice to have two comfortable chairs and not the egg shaped seats. Air cond and heat worked fine and the fireplace was nice. You are able to see many stars at night and through the ceiling. You have a nice deck with seats and a hammock. There were some acitivites at night. We did not have kids with us but saw many families enjoying the various activities and play area. When you turn off the highway the street is very rough and bumpy. When you turn into the resort you have gravel. The other drawback is location. You are in Valle which is between Williams (30 miles) and GRand Canyon Park (20 miles) you do need to travel to either of these areas for restaurants. The drive on Route 64 isn't bad even at night. Next time we visit I would probably look for a hotel in the park in in Tusayan which is right near the park. There were many nice hotels. So if you are looking for something different this is a great spot esp with a family. We went in Oct so at night the dome was very cozy esp with the fireplace and soft warm blankets they provide. Check in was easy and Melanie was friendly. You can easily text them if you need something. Your dome does not get WIFI but we did have adequate Verizon service to text, etc.
