If you are looking for the perfect location, look no further. The Apgar Village Lodge is steps from spectacular Lake McDonald and just minutes from the Going to the Sun Road. It was absolutely the best spot to explore the Park. I'm still dreaming of the spectacular view over Lake McDonald. Additionally, there is also a great shop and coffee/ice cream bar directly next door. The West Glacier Shops were just down the road, however we were not able to take advantage of them as everything had just closed for the season. If you visit, make sure to go before the third week of September if you want more options. Perfect location aside, I also want to highlight some areas of improvement. The Motel is extremely basic; no TV, no phone, and very outdated decor. I do understand that people don't visit Glacier to stay in their motel rooms, but there are a few small things that could be updated that could make a massive impact. My recommendation to the owner is to invest in replacing the carpet and flooring in the bathroom. These were the two things that immediately caught my attention upon entering as it made the room feel "dirty". The shower also was very small; if you're heavy set, it could be a tight squeeze. A word of warning for light sleepers; the walls are paper thin. We had a family next door and it felt like their kids were literally in the room with us. We could hear every word that was spoken. Bring your ear plugs or be sure to request a room, based on availability, that does not have another guest blocked directly next door. There are cabins available, so perhaps that could be an option to consider if you value privacy. On a positive note, the bed was clean, comfy, and warm. For those of you looking to post pics immediately, be warned that there is no internet at the motel. I think this is actually great as it forces guests to put their phones down and simply take in and enjoy the views! I highly recommend Apgar Village Lodge if you value location over amenities. I was able to put up with the "cons" as I was so excited to have the opportunity to stay inside the Park!

No coffee maker, dorm fridge or microwave, I guess early hikers just go without Shower head to low for 6 foot person, about neck height. Thin walls and hear neighbors easily, just old hotel construction

Called reservation number and was told property was not available. Checked online and a cabin was available with 2 queen beds. Stayed in cabin #4, very happy with accommodations and Eddie's restaurant.

price is way more than accommodations The setting is lovely I explained in the previous section the cabins have not been updated in 30 years we have stayed in the past hopefully price could match the cabin.

Apgar Village is a very good place to stay at when in Glacier NP. It has what you need the most for comfort and convenience for a relaxing stay There are restaurants both inside and just outside the park, and the views are great.
