Horribly tiny bathroom. Shower is about the size of a camper shower. Towels are poor quality. Hard bed. Everything is very old. Needs a major upgrade. No microwave in the cabin. Wood looks like it is starting to rot.

Apgar Village is easy access to the lake. They offer kayak rentals. The village has a restaurant, bar, gift shop, picknick area. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will be staying here again.

We loved everything about our stay at Apgar Village. We had a cabin which was perfectly-sized for our family of two adults and two teens. I enjoyed waking up to the logs of a wood cabin over my head each morning. The setting was sublime: on the south shore of Lake McDonald, close to world class hikes and biking trails. We ate at Eddie’s Cafe for most meals as the food was excellent. We bought simple groceries in the country store and made ourselves pancakes, eggs and bacon in our cabin’s kitchen each morning. If I could have stayed the entire summer, I would have been very happy here.

Great location, inconsistent cabin quality!

The view of Lake McDonald and the Rocky Mountains from Apgar is unbeatable. The convenience of it as well - close to West Glacier, directly on Lake McDonald, and an easy connection point to Going to the Sun Road. We stayed in two different cabins. Cabin 21 was uncomfortable - the smell and cleanliness was off putting and I was disappointed. The staff definitely cleaned the cabin, but I think it's just an old space. The carpeted floors were one of the worst parts for me, I felt like I had to wear house slippers. I almost would have preferred if it was a bare bones cabin with regular wood floors that you laid your sleeping pad and sleeping bag out on. The floors or beds were also uneven so depending on where you slept you may have been at an angle :( Cabin 2 was great - it was small, cute, quaint, and while still clearly an old cabin that's been part of the park for a minute, I loved it! I felt much more comfortable and would even feel okay sleeping on the floor, which definitely was not the case for Cabin 21. The staff were friendly and check out and check-in were super easy. I'd stay here again because of the view of the Lake, the convenience of the surrounding amenities and so long as I don't have to stay in Cabin 21 or anything else like it =)

Great Stay & Great Location

Check-in was a breeze. The staff had a mask on and plexiglass for protection. We got lucky to have cabin 22 (2 queen beds) because it's right next to the creek, so we can see out from the cabin as well. The cabin is also in the shade for most of the day making it stay cool even when it was really hot. Even though a fan came with the cabin, we didn't use it because 1)there was no convenient place to plug the fan into that wouldn't be in the way and 2)we found that the breeze coming off of the creek at night was sufficient to keep the night cool. As far as the kitchen goes, it was very basic. There was a small stove with 4 burners, which was enough for us. There were pots and pans as well as some plastic bowls(for washing or could be a big salad bowl) and utensils enough for 4 people. There was a rather flimsy spatula, a pizza cutter, a coffee maker, a toaster, but there were no real knives but steak knives. Neither there were dish detergent and seasoning or oil, so you'll have to bring those yourself. The beds were comfortable, but some of the bedsheets could be replaced as some of them were piling quite a bit making it feel rough to the skin. Since we did our grocery shopping in Kalispell, we only needed a few more things and Eddie's (cafe & mercantile)did the job. They had white bread, hotdog buns, some cheeses, and wines as well as some ready to go sandwiches. No veggies though. Overall it was a great stay especially in early to midafternoon when it was quiet.
