Below average Holiday Inn with high rates
As a retired Sales Executive I have traveled extensively and many times stayed at IHG hotels. My wife and I stay at Holiday Inns often when we travel. During this 8 day trip we will stay at 3 Holiday Inns. But this one was simply bad. When I got in my room I discovered that there was no soap. I called the front desk and they said the hotel had no soap!!! So use the shower gel!! You mean that they could not send someone down to the local supermarket and get soap? Where's the managet - Oh he went home for the night (leaving a hotel with no soap!!!) We paid $300/night for the room. This is just poor management and and a non-centric customer service organization. POOR, POOR and shame on Holiday Inn for allowing this to happen.

Average hotel with high rates
Quite disappointed with staff as we had been riding cross country and original hotel another couple had arranged to stay at was booked. We rode into town and needed to find a place and they had vacancy. I told the staff I had AAA and I could grab my phone to get my card info and he said it's OK I'll just give you the rate. Well after riding for 8-9 hrs I just believed him. At checkout I realized he didn't. It was my fault I didn't check. The room was average and not work $270.00 a night. They offered breakfast and staff were very friendly. Woman made my toast for me and brought it to me. Food was the typical bland food you would expect. Not a lot of assortment as I've experienced in other IHG. No pastries or yogurt.

Breakfast was the high point
- Check in was strange. Hard to understand front desk.
- Breakfast! Excellent food! Everything was hot that should be; all containers kept full; Great staff – very helpful and cheery. Alberto kept things very clean and his wife Amelda was a wonderful IHG ambassador.
- Bathrooms: Greeted by a toilet seat that was up and a pubic hair in the toilet bowl...Yuck! Sink was full of bacteria on the overflow hole. Older. Need to be redone. No hand soap. Asked front desk for bar of soap. Never came.
- Good pool.
- Room: Very Poor in-room lighting; Bright fluorescent lighting around mirror and table lights—too bright! Quilts too short for bed!
- Sleep Quality: 4
- Location: 4
- Service: 4

overcharged by $400
I'm currently writing this laying in bed, fuming on our first night stay. We were quoted $550 something on the phone and ended up having to pay over $900 upon check in. We had even called TWICE to book this hotel and heard the same quote twice. We booked directly through Holiday Inn because it was about $40 cheaper than Booking.com, wouldn't have bothered to stay here at all if they're just going to charge us $400 extra. Spent a while on the phone with customer service to get them to pull up our phone records. They are investigating and will call us back. In the meantime, very disappointed. Won't be staying at another Holiday Inn or IHG hotel, nor will I ever recommend these hotels

Not sure why all the negative reviews
We loved this hotel. The staff are so kind and amazingly helpful. The rooms were as expected - nothing more nothing less. Breakfast was included and it was a great start to every morning vs. having to find a location to go and get food.
Always found parking even when we got in late and it was a quick drive to the canyon. Would stay again if we visit!
