Know before you go
The room was great, except that it had no soap, shampoo, or other things normally in a hotel.
The staff was very rude.
Things to know: check online prices and book online. The staff will not match online prices.
Get the full price of what you are going to pay if you book in person. I was quoted a price and asked 3 times if it included all the taxes and such. I was charged an extra $33.06 for taxes and fees. I thought it was strange that I was going to be charged $130 even for a 1 night stay, but that is what i was told 3 times. Upon check out, I was told that they were sorry I was misinformed, but there was nothing they could do.
Do your homework before staying (I wish I had)

Good price for the Grand Canyon
Staff were helpful. Electrical outlets by bed were loose from heavy use and the tub drain plug wouldn't stay open--both need repair. We did tell the staff upon checkout and they noted it for repair. Breakfast was so-so, typical for Covid times. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, hotel was quiet. Price was very good considering its location by the park entrance--probably because of Covid and winter.

We arrived at the inn about 3:00. We went to the hot tub, which was indoors. The pool was also inside by the hot tub. It was a very spacious area.
My husband and I went back to our comfortable guest room that was attractively decorated. My husband took a nap. We spent a little in our room before going out to dinner.
About 7:00 all of the lights, except the bathroom light, went off. We had virtually no power. No WiFi, no TV, and our room began to get cold.
I went down to the lobby where some people were gathered. The employees handled all of our questions and concerns with professionalism and calmness. It was impressive. I would like to give kudos to the staff for their great handling of an uncomfortable situation.
While we didn’t get to stay overnight because of the power failure, I did want to write a complimentary review for this property.

Convenient location to the park
Outside of being very convenient to the south entrance GCNP this hotel offered the basics for the price. The room was clean but any extra ‘amenities’ you had to request from the front desk (ie. lotion, blow dryer, coffee/tea). Also, the grab & go breakfast was a cold bagged meal which seemed minimal compared to the other hotels we’ve been staying at of equivalent level. One bonus was the indoor heated swimming pool which my son enjoyed. It was supposed to be max 10 ppl but no one enforced that so when it became crowded we left.

We booked for two nights to see the Canyon and they let me cancel one when we made a change of plans to head to sedona. No charge. Staff at breakfast and front desk were amazing. Nice to go bag of yogurt fruit and granola that we ate at the canyon. Doors are very loud when shut and lots of banging from people above us. Lots of families and kids. Room was either freezing or hot haha. I would give a three but the friendly staff and flexibility make it a four. Cheaper than staying in the Canyon and only five minutes away.
