Adequate but Over Priced

We stayed at this property while visiting the Grand Canyon. As other posters have mentioned, the location is really good, close to the park's south rim entrance and on the main street of town, walking distance to restaurants, a few shops and a gas station. We arrived around 7:00 pm and parking was scarce. Check in was fairly quick and we were directed to our room in the separate "adults only" building. The room was large, but it wasn't, if that makes sense. It had a living area by the door, which was small, and the sleeping area with a small window separated by the bathroom. The sleeping area was also small, and the bathroom was tiny. All in, the room had decent square footage but each of the three areas was small. Also dark: the small'ish window let in little light and virtually none to the living area. The room was quiet, fairly clean and everything worked: well, everything except the wifi which was bad at the best of times, sometimes unusable. All in all, this is decent albeit dated property and very expensive for what you get. It's location to the Grand Canyon must be driving the prices.

Average Hotel with Below Average Guest Service

My family stayed at this hotel on our way to and from a family gathering. During both stays, there were some problems with a mostly unavailable/unreachable guest service desk. On our first stay, we had a problem with our key card. We stopped by the front desk twice and then tried calling twice. No one was available. On our second stay, no one was available to check us in and I had to call the hotel phone number to ask someone to please show up. My wife later called the front desk about a problem with our bathroom but no one was answering. Generally the hotel was ok, but if you stay here, expect a self-serve experience because guest services won't likely be available after (if) you can check in.

Adequate but extremely dated

We stayed three nights at this hotel and I would call it adequate. Our room was in a separate building so I cannot comment on the rooms in the main building. Our room was large in that it had a small living room/desk area, and the bedroom was separate. The furniture and decor were very dated, but clean. The bar sink and mini fridge/microwave were appreciated, but the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The door barely cleared the toilet, and the tub/shower combo was old. It also took quite a while to get hot water in the shower. We skipped housekeeping, but the amount of chemicals/cleaners they used left a heavy smell in the hallways and rooms. On the plus side, our building was fairly quiet and had it's own breakfast area. Roberta, the hostess with the mostess, was very friendly and busy making sure the food was hot and available for quests, and coffee pots were filled. Everything was so clean as she was constantly wiping down all the food areas and tables. I read a number of comments about how crowded the main lobby hotel breakfast area was. Another nice touch were the microwave plates/pots that were in the room. We had leftover pizza from lunch and were able to heat it up for dinner. All in all, it was adequate, but not some place that I would choose to return to.

What a great hotel. We booked a king suite and got a gorgeous new room in a separate building from the main hotel (across the street). It consisted of only king suites and we felt like a queen and king. Lots of parking, close to all restaurants and sights. Our only minor issue was that when we used the hot tub, my husband's bathing suit got completely bleached. We brought this up to management who reduced the rate of our room. I'd stay here again.

Clean, comfortable, well-run property. 4.5 rating. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The room suite was comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a good selection of choices. We appreciated that the front desk person was able to let us check in early so we could unload our vehicle and spend the afternoon in the park.
