Definitely Not Worth the Money!

Published Date: May, 21, 2023 Travel Date: May, 1, 2023 Rating: 3 We just got back from a 2 night stay here and were disappointed at the quality of the hotel. It was very expensive yet the rooms were what I would call "shabby". The furniture is old and obviously well used. In some places the veneer was peeled off, or big gouges present. It looked like they recently took queen sized mattressed and plopped them on top of old full size foundations so that the edges and bottom end of the mattresses hung over (so you couldn't sleep too close to the edge). The beds are also quite soft. Also the bathrooms didn't look too clean, with brownish tile and greyish grout, especially around the tub. The TV channels were limited. This is a huge hotel with 2 wings, but there is only 1 elevator per wing which is SUPER SLOW. We were on the top floor and often waited a full five minutes for an elevator. There was maintenance equipment left in the hallway. Also be aware that almost every day a busload of people descend upon the place and take over the lobby and the breakfast area in the morning. However, I have to say the breakfast was very very impressive--a large buffet with a good choice of hot foods and meats. Still, not at all worth the exorbitant price. Please shop around--there are other properties in the area just as nice for much less money.

Good

Location: 5 ⭐️ just a few mins drive to the entrance of Bryce National Park
Free Breakfast: 5⭐️ best hot breakfast I’ve had but the coffee was just ok. There were so much help available to make sure the food is in good supply and the area clean and if you need a refill of something.
Room: 1 ⭐️ stained duvet and a quick wipe with my chlorox wipes lessened the stain…so I assumed it WASN’T changed from the previous guest, good thing we were given a 2 queen bedroom so we used the other one but eeeww coz i know they don’t wash between guests. Upstairs guests were heavy footed and walking a lot past midnight! If you are a light sleeper, ask for a 4th floor room.
Parking: 5 ⭐️ plenty!
Dining availability: 1 ⭐️ you have to drive at least 4 miles for good food.
Noticed most of the guests were older population which was good because the hotel was pretty quiet. The coffee carafe in the lobby was available in the AM (not fresh tasting and lukewarm) and I guess until they ran out because it wasn’t there by 1pm. The pool was open and exposed and it was nasty looking. I saw some guests using the jacuzzi

The room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Included breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. It was not inexpensive, so I guess you get what you pay for.

At best, disappointing!

The first thing that I realized is that the person delivering the luggage to the room had written my room number on my luggage tags - not a sticker, not on a removable luggage tag but on my permanent luggage tag that I had purchased at the New York Met. The wrote it on the tags with a permanent marker. When I called it out, I was surprised at the response - it was a dumb and dumber moment "we have to know where to bring the bags!" and when I mentioned stickers or temp bags, I got a confused look.
The AC was loud which meant the sleep quality wasn't the best.
