Because of Covid, Kaibab Lodge was less than we expected. The positives: We stayed in the "condo style" building on the first floor. The room was semi-renovated but it was clean and adequate. It was also quiet and most of the time we were the only ones in residence. The staff was friendly but there the positives stop. The negatives: their website said they had a restaurant but with Covid had cut back on in-house dining and the type of food served but would be serving "clean and healthy food to meet all diets". Should have ca.lled for further info. they were serving "bowls" which consisted of different types of ingrediens of your choice piled in a bowl and served. It was not very appetizing to look at. We made other arrangements which was not easy as there aren't many options available at this time in that area. Regarding our room -- we were supposed to have a view of the meadow but unfortunately there were very large trees in front of the deck so our view was greatly blocked. Disappointing. The cost was overpriced for what we got but we were there for the canyon so the trip was worthwhile. We could not have asked for better country to be in and the weather was absolutely perfect!

Sister and I wanted a safe, quiet, clean place to stay for a night that was super close to the North Rim. Kaibab lodge fit the bill. It was about $100 less expensive than staying within the park while being very close by. No AC but it was not needed. It got down to mid 50s during the night even though daytime temps at north rim were hovering at 90. We were sung to by birds and greeted by squirrels. Because of COVID the food offerings were minimal, but the staff is doing their best, I'm sure. I would return in a heartbeat.

Quiet, clean, great staff!

This is a wonderful lodge, if you enjoy nature and solitude, this is the place for you! Our reservations were cancelled at the North Rim Resort (Thank goodness! Nothing like living in a fish bowl! Spending the day having people walk right by your cabin from dawn to dusk is not my idea of relaxing.) The cabins were clean and quiet. Even with all the Covid monkey business, we had a couple good meals, and a very pleasant stay. I would come back and stay anytime!

One night stay, very basic rooms. No amenities, no tv, no ice machine, etc. set up to look like a cabin but felt like a motel. Pretty clean. Good for a one night stay. Very overpriced for what you get but I guess they get away with it because of location.

Great Visit

We had a great one night stay. Enjoyed the morning temperature of 52. Very convenient to the North Rim. Our cabin had been recently renovated. No AC but it was not needed. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good too.
