Eddie and Jean (The managers) saved us after the park closed due to the fire and we missed the evacuation. We were so tired after the second consecutive rim2rim hike and were told that we might be stuck for a week or two. They gladly took us in and what a stay. We felt instantly like family and they even cooked us breakfast the next day as the staff was evacuated. This place was awesome and Looking out on open fields where you can see deer and possibly buffalo from your cabin. Super comfortable beds which is required if you plan hiking the canyon. Would definitely stay again and me and my bro and his wife were sad to be evacuated as we were planning all sorts of activities with Eddie and Jean.

Ideal comfort before and after our r2r2r hike
The staff here make you feel like family. They are accommodating, kind, hard-working, and genuine. After a long day of hiking through the Grand Canyon, we ordered some delicious food, freshened up in our clean and fully stocked cabin, and had a good night's sleep in the beds, which had new mattresses on them. Right outside of our cabin, we saw beautiful stars at night and in the morning we sat watching the deer in the prairie while drinking our coffee. We felt lucky to be able to stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable accommodations, great food, and better people.

Delightful location outside of the Park
We knew that the accommodation at Kaibab Lodge was basic, the cabins are clean but the older cabins where we stayed need an upgrade particularly the shower. The restaurant was good and the surroundings are very tranquil.
There is no cellphone service and only one phone in the office in the Lodge which is fine. However, the downside for us was that both my sister and I had our credit cards compromised whilst staying there and of course with no phone service we had to wait until we left to report this. Luckily the credit card company was on the ball.
Would I stay there again, probably not! Good location to visit the North Rim of the Canyon.

Quaint and cozy
The cabins are quaint, small, cozy and the walls between are thin but worth staying in anyway. Not a resort where there is lots to do but a nice place to lay your head after a long day hiking and viewing the north rim. The restaurant is wonderful. We had homemade lasagna which really hit the spot on a chilly Fall day. Breakfast was good too. Staff were wonderful. Everyone we met and talked with were friendly and courteous. It was the final weekend before they close for the Winter. I think they were ready for the rest and excited to be done for the year.

Fortuitous start to our rim-to-rim hike!
We stayed here 1 night before starting our rim-to-rim hike. Good location with reasonable prices. Rooms were basic and very clean (four of us stayed in cabin 7). Food onsite was good to great, and the bag lunch was excellent value (thanks for the creme puff!).
When we sat down to dinner and the server/innkeeper asked what we needed, I jokingly remarked that we needed a pair of size 9 women's hiking shoes by 7am the next day for my friend who'd forgotten hers back in Flagstaff. She GAVE her pair of Merrell's to my friend! Without those, my friend would've had to go back to Flagstaff and hike in from the South Rim. We will always appreciate her generosity and be amazed at the serendipity of the timing.
