RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN-WE LEFT ONE DAY EARLY
We booked two nights at this hotel. First of all, they say they are a "pet friendly" hotel-but there are no designated areas for pets to go to the bathroom-NONE-my dog will not go on gravel, which was the ONLY thing available-when we asked about where I could take her-they recommended the empty skanky open field in the back-pitch black out.
There is an outside door and an inside door -the outside door was filthy, with specks that look like dog poo right besides the handle. That set the tone for the room. The rooms are dark and gross-not well kept up at all-there was rust all over the shower head, the bathroom door was shredded at the bottom, the room itself just seemed nasty-With Covid happening, I had concerns the room hadn't been cleaned properly.
I was so unhappy about this hotel that we decided to leave a day early. When I went to check out, the manager or clerk (not sure who he was), literally came from around the counter and came up so close to me completely DISRESPECTING social distancing-literally up to me to tell me they couldn't reimburse me for checking out early. I NEVER ASKED HIM TO-I just handed him my keys and told him we were checking out early. I wasn't expecting my money back as I was the one who decided to leave. If you can, stay at another hotel-It's not where I would ever stay again.

Great Location, Grand Canyon Stay
I had mixed feelings about this hotel. I'll list the pros and cons
+Great location, less than 10 mins from the Grand Canyon, walking distance to the IMAX cinema.
+Nice Lobby and Restaurant (The food and service were great)
+Cool Room (The room cooled down about 15 minutes after turning on the AC unit, it stayed cool all night)
+/- Appears to have been recently updated with more modern furnishing and linens, but missing an eye for details (paint job was a bit rough, floor tile on the shower surround, poorly caulked amenities)
-Even though at check in they mentioned our room was for a family of 5, there were only enough towels/linens for four. The couch didn't have any linens so I had to ask for those, and there was only 1 tiny bar of soap) Not a big deal, but I thought it should have been prepared for 5 people.
-Entering the stairways/elevator was very unpleasant. (Elevator entry was SO HOT and muggy) (The back stairway overlooks all the cleaning supplies and linen carts.
I guess.. if you are just looking for a good night sleep and a nice meal, this is a good place to go. If the aesthetic and details matter to you, this might not be your place.

I would recommend this hotel. Very clean and nice! Very friendly staff. No complaints about this hotel at all. Very accommodating staff. Have booked hotels at different places and their website is far different than in person, the grand plaza was true to what they advertised

Enjoyed the stay
I read other reviews and I don't understand why people are complaining about this hotel. I thought it was great. They let us check-in early. We had first floor room with two doors. The room was comfortable. Due to COVID-19, some amenities were not available. Wagon Wheel Saloon food was okay, but bit pricy. Overall, enjoyed the stay.

Trashy outdated hotel
The hotel is trashy. I did not really like it. The only one postive is its location. It is located just a short 7 min drive from the South Rim of Grand Canyon. Also nearby there are some shops and restaurants, if you want to go out. However, the hotel is pretty bad. Only the lobby looks good, the rest needs to be remodeled and updated. My King Bed Room was outdated and it did not feel clean. I found some dusty, dirty spots, basically bad housekeeping. The bed was kind of comfortable. I did not like the air conditioner which was old and nosy. The bathroom was tiny and uncomfortable. I liked the fact of having a bathtub because it was nice to relax there after a long day in the Grand Canyon. That said, the bathtub was small and barely could fit me (I am 6 ft tall). The bathroom amenities were of a very cheap quality and did not really smell nice. In general, this hotel gave me a vibe of a cheap roadside motel which was very basic. If you want to be comfortable and enjoy your room, this hotel is not the right option for you. Also the quality of the hotel does not line up with its price (I payed $125 per night) and I find this price ridiculous for what I got.
