All I need in a place, I don't understand the 3 star rating, glad it didn't book elsewhere. Clean, roomy, could have used a microwave but non unusual with a good restaurant steps away. To find a fault it would be the room was at 56 degrees when we arrived and the heater took awhile to make it comfortable. The front desk was full of information and friendly about it. I tipped Carlos in house keeping $40.00 for his extra help, a $1,200 camera lens rolled under the bed, I returned for a few more days and it was there to retrieve. I wish I could have gave Carlos more but I had been on the road for to long I was making careless mistakes and my wallet was to running low for more.

Clean and comfortable rooms with convenient access to in-house and off-campus food options. But, it’s the service that sets this place apart. Lovelyn was informative and helpful upon check-in. Most impressively, Kelsey went above and beyond to help our group recover from car trouble. Rest assured the staff will be ready and willing to help you make the most of your Grand Canyon experience, no matter what nonsense shakes out.

Lousy overpriced hotel

Honestly I understand there is only so much real estate outside the Grand Canyon Gate. So hotels will charge as much as they can get away with. But really, one can do so much better than this hotel. It feels like a backpacker joint. Only it costs $229 per night. Surly service, loud music which permeates all the rooms, sad interior. It’s a very depressing place.

Front desk clerk was very nice but I’m not very impressed with this hotel from the start. It was way overpriced at $170 for a weeknight. It has miniature full-size beds not queens. The lamp on the table does not have a shade, there is no fan in the bathroom the outlets at the sink to do your hair were both so old they won’t even hold a plug. Top of shower was filthy! I was not impressed!

It’s a 60 year old EconoLodge building and operation. (The carpets appear to be the original green crap carpet from 1960.) It’s a big, multi-level building....well over 100 yards from the check-in on the right front....to the back left stairway. For some reason the ONE AND ONLY ELEVATOR is halfway, but the luggage carts are not at the front door, and they’re not halfway (at the ONE AND ONLY ELEVATOR), the carts are stored 150 yards away....back by the left rear STAIRWAY (what will you do with a luggage cart stored 150 yards away...BY A STAIRWAY!?). I never found a luggage cart, but maybe it can climb stairs!
