Stunning place in Escalante

Jan and Scott are incredible hosts, they went out of their way to make sure I got to the yurt safely (a major road was closed due to snow). Even Jan's father asked if I was OK. Jan and Scott make this special place and yurts even more special with their hospitality, genuine curiosity, sense of humor and kindness. I had a breakfast ready to go for my hike. Would definitely come back.

The yurt was perfectly appointed with everything you could need- so cozy. The breakfast was such a fantastic bonus. For my family it meant getting on the road asap with no need to stop. The location itself is situated in a beautiful area close to so many awesome hikes.
Jan was an incredible help planning my hikes the next day which meant more time with my family.
I cannot wait to return.❤️

It was gorgeous and had everything we could possibly need. Between the comfortable bed, the wall mounted big screen t v, the plush robes we decided that “Glamping” is the only way to go. It’s such a beautiful and peaceful place and so close to many great hikes. We’ll definitely be back

Wonderful Oasis

Published Date: Apr, 18, 2023 Travel Date: Apr, 1, 2023 Rating: 5 After spending time in Zion, Bryce Canyon and a challenging hike in Escalante Petrified Forest State Park on the way to Escalante Yurts, we needed a place to recharge and relax and were a bit motel room fatigued. This was exactly what we hoped for. Yes, a yurt is technically a tent over a framework. However, these are filled with comfortable furniture, a wonderful bed, shower, microwave, converter unit for heat/cooling, refrigerator and attention to details to make the stay effortless while immersed in Utah high desert surrounded by Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Five minutes after arriving we were sitting on the deck and stayed there for the evening. Quiet, beautiful spot in the evening and a great spot for the supplied breakfast in the morning.
Well rested we set off on additional adventures guided by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable host/owner, Jan. The facility has an extremely useful brochure with QR codes to link one to additional information. Another one of those very helpful details. You just need to remember to check it out before you wander out of wifi/cell phone range. Lesson learned.
We found the unit very comfortable and fun, with a helpful and friendly host who had great ideas for exploration and shopping in town. It is a great location for Grand Staircase.

Wonderful stay -- comfortable and unique

Published Date: Apr, 14, 2023 Travel Date: Apr, 1, 2023 Rating: 5 Quick summary: this is a very comfortable stay in a unique lodging experience. Well-designed in both aesthetics and function. En suite private bathroom. Friendly, professional staff and service that can provide great local advice. Close to touring nature's wonders.
We stayed five nights at this very comfortable, unique experience. Up front: I do NOT go camping, so I was a bit cautious when my husband booked the yurts. Thankfully, this lodging is definitely more glamour than camping.
We stayed in the Ash yurt, which is spacious and has a very comfortable king bed and good pillows.
The area is beautifully decorated, with an Eastern vibe (buddha painting; artsy coffee table in front of a sectional sofa. ) There is also a cafe table and two chairs; a serving credenza with a large assortment of Keurig coffees and teas. It is also well-kitted out with wine glasses, real coffee mugs (not paper cups,) plastic tableware, but also high quality knives with serrated edges. Microwave and fridge that has a good freezer for your cold packs.
...But it is a yurt. There are no closets or drawers to speak of, but luggage racks, and a few hooks here and there.
Full bathroom has a spacious shower. The hotel has an eco-vibe, so the water pressure and flow were not impressive, but it was reasonable. Each yurt has its own hot water tank, so lots of hot hot water was readily available, i.e. you didn't have to let it run long to get hot water.
Very good HVAC and complimentary wifi, which is kind of amazing for the area.
Many amenities include robes, nice toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, body lotion), good towels and bed linens.
Complimentary breakfast is delivered to your room the day before, so that you can microwave it at your leisure. Each morning has a rotating assortment of a to-be-heated item: quiche, breakfast burrito, or breakfast McMuffin-type sandwich; a muffin or quick bread; and demi-cup of assorted fresh fruit. All was very tasty.
Due diligence: in a perfect world, there would be real half-and-half for the coffee, not non-dairy creamer. We rectified that easily by buying some from a grocery store in town, and stashing it in the fridge.
Also: the floors could get cool, especially in the tiled bathroom. I'd bring slippers or a good pair of socks to keep your feet comfortable.
Close to town for your assortment of needs. Close to touring the national parks and monuments in the area.
Owner-managers are on the premises, and are great sources of information and guidance. They can also arrange for Jeep rentals, which we did very good experience.
Of course we'd be delighted to stay again if we are in the area...and rent their jeeps!
