Average hotel in an excellent location
The location of this Marriott is fabulous. You can walk to the entrance of Zion or take the convenient shuttle. There’s a handful of restaurants in the area, we weren’t in love with the food in Zion at all. Room was clean and really liked the decks on each side of the hotel to watch the sunrise or sunset. The parking was free and there were plenty of spots. The lobby itself was nicer than you would expect for a SpringHill and the pool was good. Fitness center had the basics.
Room for improvement:
The breakfast: just offer guests an opt out for a credit if they have food allergies. We have nut and gluten allergies and couldn’t eat anything due to either cross contamination or no options which was tough.
Pets: you need pet free rooms/corridor for those with allergies. We typically wouldn’t choose a pet friendly hotel but in Zion we had no choice. It was annoying when they were roaming the hall without a leash (that happened while we were there) and had to take double allergy medicine during that stay.
We stayed at a lot of hotels on our west tour. The location of the hotel this location was our favorite for proximity to park but the worst from a food/pet perspective. We would return if in the area and just be more prepared with our own food.

KNOW before you GO
This Marriott hotel is aesthetically pleasing in ever detail - very upscale, modern, and clean. However, please read my review before going as it will improve your stay.
The hotel allows dogs, but it's not "pet-friendly". NOTE: Dogs are not allowed in Zion NP. The main roadway or thoroughfare is NOT open to personal vehicles, so you must take the shuttle to go hiking or sightseeing. Dogs are NOT allowed on the shuttle. The hotel has very strict rules about dogs: dogs are not allowed unattended in hotel rooms for any amount of time, and there are expensive fines if this rule is broken. So, this is what your stay looks like if you have a dog...you will be confined to your room! You cannot go hiking or sightseeing. You cannot go to the hotel's dining or fitness rooms unless you are traveling with someone who can stay in the room with your dog. It's all very confining and frustrating.

Excellent SpringHill Suites at a perfect location
This is the nicest Springhill Suites I have ever seen, largely due to it's location with stunning vieuws from the terrace and pool area. The hotel ground are very nice and a bus stop of the Zion shuttle is very closely. The hotel looks new. The breakfast is included and quite basic. The only thing that annoys me is that everything at breakfast is plastic. I feel that a chain like Marriott should take it's responsibility and limit the amount of plastic used in their hotels. Is it so difficult to use normal crockery and cutlery? Rooms are very nice and beds are very comfortable.

Great hotel inside and out
I have stayed at Marriott properties all over the US and Europe and this is an exceptional property. Location is great with access to the shuttles into the park(internal lots were full by 9:00 AM). Numerous great restaurants within walking distance. State liquor store across from hotel. Front desk staff was excellent- attitude and information. Room was very nice - I really liked the stall shower rather than a tube. Breakfast was typical Springhill Suites. Only down side was the scrambled eggs - tasted like powdered eggs. Something very unusual for a breakfast bar - the toasters actually worked.
One suggestion - since a lot of people who use this hotel go hiking —- how about offering granola bars on the buffet?

As a Titanium/Lifetime Platinum, I see a lot of Marriott properties. I am giving this location a 5, as based on what they are trying to do, they did an excellent job. The location is right on the shuttle, there are multiple high quality restaurants literally in the parking lot, they have a nice pool, the room was clean, and the breakfast was the standard freebie. Noise was low, and the views are good from most rooms. There was nothing I considered less than excellent for a SpringHill, and the location is a big plus as well.
