Visited this place on Motorcycle trip. Its ideally located for Monument Valley and other attraction in Arizona and Utah. Comfortable rooms with a nice restaurant with good local food. The staff were very personal. It in the process of changing hand so all that may change

a place to sleep....not more
the lady at the front desk did not say more words than strict necessary, but she ws one of the few people alive in Mexican Hat; in wintertime only this motel end the gas station are open; the motel is reasonable, not very clean, old fashioned but on a nice place at the border of the river; weak wifi, tv is not 100%, ice machine out of order; the restaurant had a new management but if they don't improve service, menu and kitchen on short term they will need another nem management; breakfast and breakfastlady were ok

Tired and poor value
This was one of the more expensive hotels we stayed at on a road trip--heaven knows why as the room was horrible--there was a hole in the bathroom door--the air conditioning unit (heater in this case) was incredibly noisy. The bed was really uncomfortable and the undersheet didn't fit properly so I kept waking to find myself on the old mattress. The restaurant opposite was closing down so they had very little stock and no heating. A thoroughly depressing stay.

Tired hotel but not much choice in Mexican Hat!
Our room was upstairs with 2 queens, clean BUT having old towels with a distinct grey tinge was not ideal. After a road trip staying in a variety of hotels, this one will go down as pricey for what is offered with no fridge, micro or coffee making..grey towels and old spring beds. Would recommend driving through to Blanding to get move value.

Odd but nice place
Like many before us we were between longer stop over points doing monument valley and valley of the gods but needing to break up the journey, this place should be amazing - on the river, great location, good size rooms - but it’s just not quiet there it was ok for 1 night but I would not have wanted to stay longer, the outdoor furniture was a nice touch, the rooms were clean and the bed comfy but it all felt a bit unloved. Shame as it should be great place.
