the perfect luxury base camp
Spacious rooms, gorgeous redrock views — the Desert Rose provided an ideal base camp for three days of journeys in the Bears’ Ears/Four Corners area. Despite having to close its restaurant as a consequence of the pandemic (further limiting the minimal dining options in Bluff), the resort still stands head-and-shoulders above all other lodging options in the area; it’s Olympic-sized indoor pool provides a welcome source of exercise, not to mention stunning vistas. Not complaint: pillows can be hard as rocks, so if you have neck issues, best to bring your own.

Western road trip
Very central location to many of the National Parks, National monuments, and other attractions. Has worked great with Covid-19 as a backdrop because it’s in a small community with only limited people around.
Hotel is very good, extremely clean and good service. We would stay here again and could recommend it to others.

Really nice hotel!
This was a spur of the moment trip to Bluff because the main road in Mexican Hat was closed off. I had the double queen room and it was super comfortable. The bed and pillows were just perfect. The whole room was super clean and I loved the room darkening shades. I would definitely stay again when in the area.

In search of a nice place to stay half way between Grand Junction, CO and Phoenix when we stumbled upon this gem in the desert. Nice, clean, sanitized rooms welcomed us. As we walked around back to the courtyard we found a beautiful porch. Inside a heated pool with views of the nearby rock formations. Behind that is a porch with a bar for better times. We came back and stayed again. I’m so happy we found this place.

luxe for the area, nicely done mostly with some real head scratchers
Went during off season. Asked twice if there would be a restaurant open in town and they said absolutely. Well there wasn't. The only option was the gas station. You can't charge what they charge and not provide food.
Also, on a two week roadtrip with many motels, their mattress was the worst by far. Really bad. And, whoever made the beds (two) didn't put the bottom sheet on correctly so the sheet popped off at the corners. We had to remake the beds in the middle of the night.
