I do understand "rustic" means No AC no TV No WIFI, but does it have to be so dirty? The carpet was gross, dust and cobwebs everywhere, my dog found an old pill on the floor (luckily I got it before he swallowed) the blanket was stained, walls so thin you hear other guests cough and whisper. .........way overpriced only good is the location

Wonderful Experience with our 5 kids
We rented Cabin 31 which was a 3 bedroom 1 bath facility. We loved the rustic feel of the rooms, very nostalgic! Very clean and accommodating. Shower had lots of pressure and great hot water. Screen porch was wonderful to view the wildlife in the the evenings. Grounds are well maintained and our family enjoyed hiking along the river and wading. BEAR SPRAY is a must for such hikes! Restaurant had great outdoor seating, very well spaced. EXCELLENT BUFFALO BURGERS! GIFT shop with well priced t shirts and other souvenirs. A great launching point to go into Yellowstone. Also check out Sleeping Giant Zip-line.

2 nights at East entrance
My parents and I stayed in an Aframe for two nights at Pahaska Teepee. It is very disconnected(no wifi/TV) and historic. It’s location is great as it is right outside the East entrance. There is a restaurant and bar on property. It has the original Buffalo Bill hunting lodge on property! You can tour it daily with a very informative guide! We loved that! We also did the 1 hour horse ride and it was great! Our guide made us feel comfortable the whole time as we aren’t very experienced with horses. We thought the food was excellent. Prices, portions and flavors all good! We really liked chatting with the staff and hearing where everyone was from. We also had some drinks at the bar in the evening and the chandelier in there is something to see. Great place to really experience history and disconnect which is so hard to do anymore. Thanks!

NOTICE: CALL BEFORE BOOKING ONLINE — ROOMS AVAILABLE ON SITE ARE WRONG
I really wanted to be able to enter a glowing review of this place since it has a great location that is close to the park but, I couldn’t due to the rudeness of most of the workers. I booked a A Frame “cabin” on their website back in May and was surprised to see the A Frames that I booked under construction when I arrived. A simple phone call to me after receiving my booking would have made ALL of the difference. However, when I brought this up to the kid checking us in and it seemed like his father, the owner, they didn’t seem to concerned that THEIR website had some misinformation on it. Instead of getting the “cabin” we had booked, we got a pretty run down cabin that we got to share with other families, and had no heat. Now you might say that heat in June, when we stayed, wouldn’t be needed, but a couple of the mornings it was cool out and that would have been nice to wake up to a warm room. The cabin that we stayed in, 34, was small, smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile and had beds that were worn a little.
The other trouble we had was to get housekeeping to provide us with clean towels and take out the garbage. I was surprised to see the room look the same after we returned from spending the day in Yellowstone. Garbage was still in the all of the trash cans, dirty towels still on the floor. When I took the garbage down to the dumpster the next morning and asked if we could get some clean towels, they looked at me like I was asking them for money. They were puzzled that a guest was asking for something.
A couple of nice things to say though. The gentlemen in the restaurant, that was maybe the host, was most accommodating. Also, the guy at the convenience store was a joy to talk to.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Quaint little place!
We stayed here October 1, had reserved two nights but due to unplanned snow, we were able to cancel our second night. The East entrance was closed for 6+ hours with more snow predicted. They were so accommodating and nice, understanding we may not be able to get back for our second night. We enjoyed dinner, breakfast and lunch, tasty food and nice staff (one waitress was not) however the rest made up for her. The quaint cabins don’t have much, but they’re warm, a decent bed and hot shower and amazing beauty right outside the door. They were in constant communication with the rangers at the gate and immediately announced when the entrance opened. A wonderful piece of history to enjoy!!
