Absolute best hotel for Zion NP visitors

While pricey and a little dated, you cannot beat the proximity to the park other than the one lodge within the park. I absolutely loved being able to walk to the park, and there were restaurants, a market, and a gift shop all within walking distance as well.
I chose a riverside 1BR king suite, and was very pleased. There are several buildings on the property, and I believe I was in Building A, close to the river. The buildings are set up like townhouses, with upper and lower units. I had a lower unit with a patio that was facing the Virgin River. I was lucky to have mule deer visit me and snack on the greenery on and surrounding my patio! It was a dream come true for that close of a wildlife experience. FYI, I learned quickly that mule deer are everywhere in Springdale, frequently crossing the busy street and hanging around hotel grounds. It was a lovely sight for me, but take care when driving in the area.
My suite itself was somewhat dated, which I expected from the pictures on the website. Nothing that affected my stay, but some may prefer a more modern look. The carpeting was the worst - it would be much more aesthetically pleasing with luxury vinyl flooring instead of that reddish carpet.
Other than the decor, the suite had everything I needed. I loved having a kitchen, and made use of the full-sized fridge to store my reusable water bottles to keep them extra cold on 100+ degree days. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom had 5 fixtures, including a soaking tub and separate glassed-in shower. The size of the shower was a bit of a disappointment - it was a corner unit that was tight for me - I cannot imagine it would be too comfortable for a guy or a larger woman. It at least had sufficient shelf space for toiletries though.
I appreciated that there was no charge for parking, and I had no trouble finding a spot near my building. There was a short ramp/sidewalk from the parking area to my lower level unit. Easy for rolling suitcases down to my unit.
Check in was easy and my room was ready early. They offer a QR code for electronic payment of the tip for housekeeping - this is nice because I do not like to carry a lot of cash on me.
Overall great experience and would most definitely return if I come back to Zion.

40th Anniversary stay

We worked with Arnold starting with our reservation, room upgrade and room selection, which was the best in the hotel. He even pulled double duty one evening by doing some maintenance in the room. Arnold's attention to customer service was superb. This hotel is the perfect location for visting Zion as it is a short walk to the park entrance which is a huge time saver. The restaurant is a gem for breakfast (Alicia our server was awesome) and dinner even having local music a few nights while we were there. The landscaping was beautiful and well maintained and we enjoyed fire pit and wildlife that joined us every night. What a wonderful time at Cliffrose!

We are Diamond members and the couple we are staying with got a better room and view and they are Marriott members. Rooms are very small and have an odor. I am assuming from the extreme heat. Nice location for visiting Zion National Park. Very frustrating that we were not able to receive a different room since we payed for canyon view.

Great views but poor service.

When we entered the restaurant, we were told that breakfast in the restaurant was only available for tour bus guests and not other guests until after 9am. This issue was repeated the next day. The hostess told us we could walk a mile to the nearest restaurant where breakfast was available for purchase. We were offended that we paid $550 per night (taxes included) for our room and were curtly advised to go to another restaurant if we wanted breakfast.
This hotel is very nice and is well positioned to Zion Park and has great views. However, room service was poor as we were not provided with coffee pods in our room and had to go to concierge to pick it up ourselves. They only had coffee as tea was not offered. Also, kids were running on the balcony outside our room until late keeping us from sleeping.

A warm welcome and a beautiful location

The location is ideal for exploring the Zion National Park and the hotel is surrounded by gardens adjacent to the Virgin River making it a beautiful base for exploring the park. The birds singing in the morning make for a great way to start the day.
The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped however what stood out for us was the excellent service from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The welcome on check in was a particular highlight with the receptionist offering up lots of really useful local information. Breakfast was also really good. We had arrived from Las Vegas where we had stayed in a much more expensive hotel and, to be honest, the Cliffrose in Springdale was so much better because of the care and attention that went in to making sure we had a great stay. We would happily return, thank you.
