Clean, quiet, but with potentially large groups

We stayed two nights here. The room was dated, yet it was clean and comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Breakfast had a nice variety, though tour groups stay here, which meant finding a place to sit and even bowls was a bit of a challenge on our second morning. We used this as a home base for touring the North Rim and Zion. It's about a 2 hour drive to the North Rim but worked out just fine for our family.

This was our third stay here in as many years...and with each year, the stay has gotten worse, sadly. There was confusion from the start in making the reservation,,,which we now see was red flag #1...#2 came when we got to the room and discovered there was a gnat problem. We did not run to the office and complain but rather did our best to take care of them (thinking it was no big deal..). Then red flag #3...ants...the little condiment packages for the coffee had been wet at some point (prior to our stay)and the ants moved in (and died) inside the packages. The coffee tray was sticky and upon moving it, more ants appeared (some dead, some alive)...red flag #4 was the floor...dead bugs and dried food particles lead us to believe the floor had not been swept/vacuumed in quite some time. The breakfast was the best part of the stay. There was quite a variety and it was very good. The lady working in the breakfast area was very nice and helpful. This was our last stay at Parry Lodge. The town now offers many other places to stay...no more red flags for us!

Great place to stay. The bed was more than comfortable. The best part were the sheets. The softest sheets I have ever slept on. We are looking forward to our next visit. We ate breakfast there the next morning and it was very delicious. There are plenty of things in the area to keep you going and having a great time.

Such a shame because our first impression as we drew into Kanab was that the Parry Lodge would be great. Indeed, there is such a lot going for it. A good location; a pretty authentic "feel" such that you can while away an evening on the veranda; a decent "history" with film star photographs galore - but you know there is a "but" coming! Essentially the room was let down by poor housekeeping. The room itself offered everything you could want but it was grubby. The breakfast was adequate - nothing more - first place I have been to in the States which ran out of orange juice. The pool was simply dirty and uninviting. I do hope the management rectifies these matters because there is a really good hotel struggling to get out!

For the type of room I got this place is way overpriced. I don't know if I got a lower quality room because of having a dog or what. No where near the pet area. My room was at the end of a drive toward a gas station. There was a repair man working on something on another building in front of my room until after 10 pm banging on things. The room next to me the door stood open all night. I could not park near my room. The room is very small, no where to sit anything. The floor was gritty and I had to clean the bottom of my dogs bed. I had to pay a pet fee for this. No plugs in the bathroom, I did not have hot water. The sink did not want to drive and the toilet seat was either loose or broken. The toilet was dirty. No place to plug all of my electronics. Light comes in around the door along with the big spider. The porch lights were not lit on my end and it was dark. For the price this room lacked quality. The only really good thing about this place was the breakfast was good and the lady hostess was great and fixed me a hot chocolate. The room where breakfast is at is gorgeous and all the old pictures of the actors and actresses were fun to look at.
