First of all, the guy who was working the front desk, I think his name was Tim, was not very nice or polite. We barely got through the door when he informed us that check-in was not until 4 pm. We sat down to wait, and when other guests were coming in, literally at 3.54, he said the same thing to them, still in a not very polite tone. I mean, seriously... You have absolutely nothing to gain holding those rooms until it's exactly 4. When we (finally) got to our room it looked clean at first sight, but when I got a closer look the night stand was a bit dusty, The bathroom walls were stained all over (looked like someone had an explosive accident), there was paint midding on the wall. I got into the shower, and the nozxle was so low that even I (I'm pretty short) had to squat and lean my head far back to be, able to wash my hair. That's when I saw the disgusting ceiling! Old yellowish brown spots and stains all over! So gross! And The ceiling fan outlet thing was so dusty! Oh, and another thing. The beds were ok, but the pillows were horrible. The safety lock on the door did not work. The AC was super loud and didn't manage to cool down the room. The toilet seat was loose. The only good thing about this place was the breakfast. Otherwise I hate this place and would never recommend it to anyone! Pictures showing the disgusting bathroom ceiling.

Not what it used to be

My family has been vacationing here for years and have always stayed at the Parry Lodge. My husband is a member of Western Wagon Masters, which does wagon trains around Utah mostly. For at least twenty years we have been doing a wagon train for Western Legends Festival here in Kanab. We start around Bryce Canyon and end up here in Kanab with authetic western wagons. Thisi hotel is now poorly maintained and quite dirty and unkept. Our second night staying here was a complete disaster. There is nobody around here after 11:00 p.m. Nobody to call even. A large group came in after midnight and there was conmotion in the parking lot and noise on both sides of our room for about an hour. I opened the door and asked them to please be quiet. That lasted for about ten minutes and then it started up again. It was after 1:00am by then. I opened the door and asked again to be quiet. The guys in front of our room tried to blame the noise on the couple on the other side of our room. Which appeared to be night hookup. The woman was outside smoking and jokiing with the guys on the other side of our room. She stated this was a cheap place to stay and hook up with her boyfriend. I had to call the police, as there was no other choice to get this ended. The police came and took care of the problem, and stated that this place has become a problem. We didn;'t get to sleep until about 3:00 a.m. We stayed one more day, but left early to go to the Hampton Inn in town. The air conditioner was noisy and it was hard to sleep. The breakfast was average, but there was no biscuits to go with the gravy. After what happened, I didn't feel safe staying there and that was the main reason we moved to another hotel. There is only one ice machine and it is out of order. There were leaves and dirt on the walkway in front of our room. The room was small and no place to put our things other than on the floor. We will never stay here again and none of our wagon train people will either. This was a complete disaster.

We enjoyed our stay at the Parry lodge. The rooms were clean and nice and the price was extremely reasonable. The breakfast included with the stay was much better than most chain hotels. It was also centrally located so you could walk to restaurants and shopping. The part we enjoyed most was the history of the lodge and the number of famous actors who stayed at the lodge while filming in the area. The lodge does a great job of displaying that history in the lobby area.

We stayed a night here and were pleasantly pleased with the motel. We enjoyed an old western movie in the old barn on the property of this vintage motel and in the morning we had an amazing breakfast that was included with nights stay. Motel staff are very friendly. I made a purchase across the street of some beautiful cowboy boots that I left in the room after checking out. We toured the town and I realized I forgot the boots so we returned to the lobby of the motel and the attendant had them stowed away with a note. I was so relieved and happy. Thank you parry lodge. We will surely return again and again!

Historic, comfortable and modern.

We loved the Parry Lodge because the accommodations were wonderful and we enjoyed reading about the western movie stars who had stayed there in the 30's. We were lucky to have one of the drive up rooms whose style harkened back to the 30's. Inside, the room was thoroughly modern, large, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was served in a western themed room with pictures and stories of the stars who had stayed there - including Omar Sharif. The breakfast was good, scrambled eggs, a bowl with cut up fruit, bacon, sausage and potatoes. They also have a barn where each night they show an old western movie. We didn't use it but there was also a pool. Please choose the Parry Lodge over the cookie cutter hotels in Kenab and your won't regret it.
