We thought the Inn was in the woods and peaceful. But instead it is located right on one of busiest railroads thoroughfares in America. The Trains and the sounding horns from these trains kept us up all night. There were about 3 trains per hour from Midnight to dawn. We live in the a major US City and the noise was too much even for us city folks. We had to leave as a result and forfeited our money for the two several nights to relocate to a quieter hotel. This cost us well over a $1,000 dollars and the InnKeeper was not going to refund us, So don't be fooled that this is a restful place because it is not! Such a Shame as we thought from the reviews everything was perfect.

The main Lodge is Beautiful, comfortable and accommodating. With Large decks to sit out on, game room... great view. Awesome Breakfast.... the rooms inside the lodge are comfortable and cozy, and there are log cabins off the mail lodge for families, or a little more space. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly and would love to go back again.

We stayed at the Great Bear Inn for 4 nights and cannot say enough about how we enjoyed our stay there. The location is a bit off the well traveled paths. Driving down a couple of hard packed gravel roads you enter the driveway and view a large log type inn. Inside are very large beams he logs adding to the scope of the inn. Bunny and Larry, our innkeepers, prepare and serve a delicious full breakfast each morning. Our room was large and well appointed in Montana Classic style with a great view of the front lawn and mountains... We highly recommend the Great Bear Inn...

We stayed for 3 nights in July. The new inn keepers could not have been more accomodating and sweet. This is a beautiful place. We stayed in the main house, bUT there are cozy looking cabins available as well. It's a 5 mile drive to the park, and this is well off the beaten path. We hope to go back!

We stayed for 5 nights in the Great Bear Grande room...spacious yet very cozy. It was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in on vacation! The location is perfect for day trips into Glacier National Park...only 15 minutes to the entrance. Bunny & Larry are terrific hosts and prepare the most delicious breakfasts. Always included fresh raspberries from their garden. Because we were halfway thru a 2 week trip, I needed to do laundry which was available at no charge. I’d highly recommend the Great Bear Inn for families as well.
