Beautiful location of the lodge. It was clean with all the necessary amenities. We were 3 couples. It was spacious. Close to sight seeing areas. We had a car so was easy to visit all the places. Would definitely stay there.

Only stay here for the location. lodging very poor

We spent two nights at a motel-style room, The location is perfect for what we wanted. The rooms had a lot of draft as doors did not seal when closed. Parking shocking not enough swing room to get in and out. Party at the pub our first night could hear the noise till 2am, most people made complains that night. Food was in resort across the road. Not value for money, expensive small meals. Seeing rooms are not very big plus no chair, TV;s etc, we spent our relaxing time in main lodge, yet Not enough room for people the fake fire was nice to sit around. Staff/service was not very pleasant they seemed to be friendly to their own staff dining etc, yet the man who served us, was very unpleasant, yet you can see he can be pleasant to the table to staff he was more interested in serving on both nights.

Do not waste your money

Do not stay here. Dirty and staff very unhappy. Location is great but way too expensive for what it is. Stayed in a cabin. Very small and minimal kitchen supplies. No oven and very little space for cooking. Tiny refrigerater. They supply you with a recycling container then throw the contents in the trash. They have no recycling program. For what they charge and what it is there are way better places to spend your money.

I booked my stay at St. Mary for my last night in Glacier National Park and I had a great time. I stayed on the west side for 3 nights and wanted to experience the east side and St. Mary was the only location that was still open in late September. Originally I had booked the value room because of the price but upon research I decided to spend a little more money to spring for the main lodge value room. Overall, my experience was great! I was off the grid (but there is free wifi) for 24 hours and it was wonderful. The Main Lodge Value Room was just that, a value room. Everything in the room needs to be majorly updated! I'm usually a very low maintenance traveler so I don't find the need to pick apart the entire room but I will say that the bathroom was something that I didn't want to spend too much time in and that's all I'll say. This part of the room needs to be updated before anything else. Be aware that there are no televisions in the Main Lodge Value Rooms which I absolutely loved but if you're going to St. Mary and expect your regular amenities of a typical hotel, you're looking at the wrong place to stay. If you're looking to relax in an environment that is essentially disconnected from the outside world, then this is your place!

Location cannot be beat

We stayed in one of the St. Mary Lodge's Cabins for 3 nights while visiting the park. You cannot beat the location - right off Going-to-the-Sun road and 25 minutes to Logan Pass without traffic! Two Medicine and Many Glacier are easy drives as well, so we felt like we really got to explore the east side of the park with St. Mary as our home base. The Lodge is quaint, with a bar/lounge area, one restaurant, a gift shop and coffee shop in the main lodge. The food was okay but overpriced, and the lounge area was way too small to accommodate a decent amount of people. However, the views were incredible, so I can see why it was such a popular part of the lodge. Our cabin was very basic, but clean and did the job. Since we were out hiking most of the day, we spent most evenings in the cabin. All cabins come with wifi but no cell reception, in-wall heaters and a small TV that had basic cable. Our cabin had been advertised as having a few, but some sort of electrical processing station took up most of what could be considered a view.
