Solid hotel. Options are limited in St. Mary and this was one of the better options. I stayed in the Main Lodge. Room was clean and spacious. And it has AC which wasn't necessary in September but would be needed if you visited during the summer. The hotel is expensive but that's a product of being in that area. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars due to the restaurant. The food at the restaurant is horrible. I ordered a basic chicken sandwich and fries and it all tasted frozen. My mom ordered artichoke dip and a salad. The dip didn't look edible. We didn't even finish our meal and ended up going to a nearby restaurant elsewhere. If I returned to the area, I would stay here again, but just not eat at the restaurant.

Spectacular views from the hotel room, very clean! Exceptional start up at the front desk staff so personable and helpful! Viewed two rooms and decide the first one they gave us was the best choice for are experience was very nice. I would highly suggest it as one of the stops while inMontana.

I would stay there again, BUT !

St Mary Village is the place to stay on the East side of the park. Well located just outside but within walking distance of the NPS East entrance visitors center. Also short drive to the Many Glacier or Two Medicine entrances. However, it is pricey. I can understand why. They have s short season, but any way you cut it it is still pricey. Also options on the East side of the park are limited. The West side offers more options. One last thing, Gas was expensive at the Village, I didn't gas up at the Village due to the price. I drove through Browning and gassed up there and saved $$$. In conclusion, I would stay there again, but I would be better prepared to avoid sundry purchases.

Tiny Home Experience

When booking our trip to GNP, I noticed the option for a tiny home and thought that could be fun. The tiny homes were so cute and had everything we needed for our stay. Only thing to note are the bathhouses are separate and are a good 25 foot walk that can be a little scary in the dark. St. Mary village had everything you needed as far as gas, grocery, gift shop and dining options (including a great coffee shop). I loved how close St. Mary was to the park and we will definitely look into staying here again if we make it back up to Glacier.

We booked this property based on the location and some positive reviews. It was very expensive for a room with 2 queen beds. We paid nearly $400 per night. The room was large and the beds were OK, but overall, we were highly disappointed. Below is what I wrote in the survey from the hotel: The room was very dark. It needs more lighting. There was only 1 lamp and we had to choose to be able to see either near our beds, or near the sofa. I requested another lamp but there were none. The rugs were very stained. We saw a bug on the carpet and attempted to remove it, but there were so many spots and it was so dark, we couldn't find it again and that was disconcerting. The shower curtain rod was hung crookedly, which made the curtain slide down towards the middle of the rod, leaving both sides open about 2 feet. It was cold in the shower and the floor got soaked every time we showered. The temperature control handle was loose and difficult to adjust. A part was missing. There was so much frost on the freezer, we were unable to get items in it. The filter on the hair dryer was broken and kept falling off, which made the dryer difficult to seat into its holder. The towels were like sandpaper and very thin. The elevator carpet was very stained. Overall, the property looked poorly maintained. I would expect something like this from a Motel 6 type of place, not a place we paid nearly $400 per night for. We had hamburgers in the restaurant. They were so well done, we could barely choke them down. Horrible. We requested well done fries and they were not cooked well at all. The waiter blamed the kitchen and indicated there was nothing he could do about it.
