I was at the hotel two nights, the first before I spent 2 days in the interior of Yellowstone, and the second the day I came out. I thought afterward that it almost seemed I had been to two different hotels. On the first night, the room was not very comfortable and the heater was ridiculously noisy. The breakfast was not good with dried scrambled eggs, overcooked (burnt) sausages and no juice available. The restaurant for dinner served tasty food but the chicken was very overdone. The second night I stayed, the room was comfortable and the heater was quiet. Breakfast was better and they did have juice. I chose to eat at a different restaurant as I didn't want to chance it. Definetely hit or miss.

If you’re looking for a nice place to stay, affordable and right in the small town of Gardiner, MT The Best Western will fit those needs! The best part??? My family and I booked an excursion through the hotel, renting snow mobiles to ride through Yellowstone National Park!!! An all day event! Great sleds, gear included, even a delicious lunch!!! Not only did we ride through the park for 8 hours stopping at all the hot spots (literally even the Geyser basin’s) but our guide, Pat, was AMAZING! Knowledgeable in all things Yellowstone! From the water to its canyon’s, to wildlife, building structure and the fires of 88’! Science, history, he was ontop of his game! I would buy this package again in a heartbeat! If you’re looking for a real treat, do yourself a favor and book this trip! The Best Western by Mammoth Hot Springs will not only bring you closer to Yellowstone, but to its heart!!!!

I was in Yellowstone for a week on a photography tour and Gardiner was our launch place - hotel was clean, bed comfortable, and great view of the mountains & river. I brought my own tea bags, heard the coffee was so-so, but never tried it.

Wonderful soft bed

The room I had at this hotel had an internal door into a corridor which linked other parts of the hotel. Brilliant idea that one did not have to go outside in the freezing cold during winter to access the pool or reception. Rooms were spacious and warm. Plenty of space for the luggage. Bathroom had a shower over the bathtub and sink was separate from the bathing area which quicken the cleaning process for two people. Plenty of parking. Most likely had a view but it was dark when I arrived and dark when I left. Good stepping stone to Yellowstone national park in the winter.

Not much choice in hotels near the north entrance to Yellowstone in winter so we stayed at the BW Gardiner. There was only one option for food as the hotel is not within walking distance of the town. The hotel is worn, but clean and quiet. It is located along the river and there are deer in the area.
