Since I was traveling alone and just here to explore I chose one of the "cabins" in the main house. It was perfect. Very rustic and cozy but still plenty of room. The staff are very helpful and inviting. Enjoyed the fire pit after sunset (yes, it's chilly in Montana in August) and exploring the surrounding property. Well worth the price of admission and I would highly recommend it.

If you love the outdoors, you'll love Bar N Ranch. It's like glamping, where you have the same amenities as you would want/need in a hotel room. Just in a canvas tent or tiny home. My fiancé and I stayed in one of the tiny homes on site and it was wonderful. We got the small, cozy cabin feel while visiting Yellowstone. It was complete with a king sized bed, a mini fridge, microwave, fireplace, and full bathroom. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The main house/lodge is small, but homey! We had a slight issue with our shower, but had it fixed quickly. The wifi and cell service is spotty on the property, but hey, it's the outdoors! We also appreciated the boxed lunches we can take into the park, and breakfast buffet provided by Embers (the restaurant on site only for Bar N Ranch guest). There also were fire pits they lit at night all over the property-- you can just join in and meet some of the other guest (s'mores included of course). Don't expect a 5-star hotel stay. But if you love camping and want a unique experience besides a boring hotel room, stay here!

The is a beautiful log cabin home which was built by the foreman of the property, a real cowboy. What a cool place to stay - on a ranch in Montana with very beautiful views. Debra helped welcome us when we got there around 1pm, tired and dirty from hiking in Yellowstone. She has a big personality and adds charm to the place. Our room was available after 3pm so we got lunch in town at a Mexican food truck. Our cabin was lovely, we stayed at the cabin closest to the lodge. I have the agree with other reviewers that the floors could be cleaner. There was a lot of bird poop on the bench outside our room. We had to move the second night to a one-bedroom in the main house, which as soooo small. Debra and team helped move our stuff while we were in the park. We had to move some stuff out to the deck in order to fit my partner and I. That room is perfect for 1, but tight for 2. When you enter the property, you are greeted by happy grazing cows, which is charming. Beautiful views and sunrises/sunsets here. In the middle of nature. I found the whole gamping tent thing a little strange because you could see them dotted over the pristine landscape, marring it a bit. There was a lovely hammock on the river. Lots of mosquitoes. Wear repellant, we made smores on the fire pit and watched a beautiful sunset the second night. The food was adequate, the coffee was not drinkable. There was never hot water at 6:30 am so I can watch the sunrise with a cup of tea in hand, which was a disappointment. The breakfast walk to the lodge across the way was really nice and the food is fine. We had to go to the bookstore in town to get proper coffee in the morning. My partner loves to fly fish and access to the Madison River was easy from here and it's certainly a fly fisher lovers spot, which is partly why we chose it.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay while visiting Yellowstone National Park. In the past, we've had the usual vacation where after 2 days, you're ready for your own bed, schedule, etc. This is our first time ever vacationing and not having that reaction. We stayed in the main lodge. The view and room were great. Everyone we met that worked there, from the management and staff in the lodge to everyone in the restaurant, was super nice and helpful. It was a nice added touch having coffee (an awesome blend called Morning Glory) and hot chocolate available all day. The breakfast was great each day, even the eggs were cooked perfectly every day. We ate dinner a few nights and had loved each selection. The two big stars were the Bison Burger and Trout. We are already begining to plan our next visit for next year!

The views at Bar N Ranch are beautiful - it's great to be outside. We stayed in the one bedroom cabin, which was not super clean and we found several bugs in unwanted places - like the pull out sofa bed. The doors had no blinds and were full transparent windows. We brought it to the attention of the staff, and while they offered for us to stay in the lodge, we opted for draping sheets over the doors because we wanted to stay in the cabin. The breakfast that is included is fine. Dinner is expensive and just ok. The lodge is beautiful inside, but the hot tub leaves a lot to be desired. There is a resident fox that shows herself in the evening around the pond. She's a pretty cool sight along with the mountain back drop.
