My wife and I stayed here for four nights and loved the experience. The booking was to be a highlight of our extended driving holiday through the Mid West. We chose this accommodation for it's design and decor and also for it's closeness to both West Yellowstone township and to Yellowstone National Park itself. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived until our departure we enjoyed every minute at the Bar N Ranch. The decor is extraordinary. Worth many a photograph just in the building alone, or in the cabins adjacent to the main building. We stayed in, and enjoyed both. The staff, from Andrew, the General Manager, to Laura and Steven, at front of house, were exceptionally friendly, professional and helpful. We were made most welcome from the first moment we met them. Some highlights were: the lovely open fire lit for guests in the open area between the cabins and main building, (with marshmallows included to cook), a spectacular sunset with millions of stars above and the peace and quiet of the rural setting. We have already recommended the Bar N Ranch to others and highly recommend it to you. One tip...if planning your first visit to Yellowstone we would suggest a stay of no less than four full days. There is much to see and do.

My husband and I stayed in the main lodge for 3 nights (Thurs-Sun) this past week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn't arrive until around 9PM our first night, but Debbie was there to greet us and check us in. She was incredibly friendly, gave us a tour of the breakfast area. main lobby area, and showed us to our room. the lobby area is adorable! Animals on the walls, fireplaces going, leather couches, and wood chairs - it had a very comfortable feel to it. There were games set up, a section of DVDs you can watch in your room, and large windows to look at the mountains. Our room was quaint (small), but more than enough for what we needed. It had a fireplace setup and an added bonus of access to a deck that overlooked the back of the ranch. Exactly what we were looking for to experience Yellowstone for the first time. The breakfast was ready to go by 7AM each morning - they have hot and cold options, overall it was okay but was included and got us to the park faster so we we're happy with it. Debbie had overheard my husband and I briefly mention this was a great place to celebrate our anniversary and the next day when we returned from the park she had put together a smores box and bottle of wine with a very sweet card inside. Our trip was already outstanding but that extra touch made it even better! The only thing I would say was not worth the money at this resort are the boxed lunches - they are a GREAT idea, you pre-order your lunch for the next day and they have them ready at 7AM for you to take in the park, but for $15/each they were vastly underwhelming. We ordered 2 turkey clubs, they came on regular white bread, with doritos. stale cookies, and anripened orange. You can get better food options in West Yellowstone or the park itself. All in all, I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends/family. If you're looking for a comfortable, clean, rustic place to stay in West Yellowstone, this is absolutely the place to be!

Incredible stay at a peaceful, nice cabin

I stayed in one of the Meadow Cabin tiny homes. It was absolutely incredible -- a brand new little cabin similar to a studio apartment. King bed, mini fridge, and beautiful view out into the range. The hosts were accommodating and friendly. I loved waking up to the gorgeous sunrise every morning. So peaceful and remote. Just a few miles from shops and restaurants of West Yellowstone and 10 mins from the West entrance of the park. One of my favorite places I've ever stayed. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the main lodge, so review is limited to that. Service was outstanding. It felt like everyone cared, tried and was competent (except some of the seasonal employees in the cafeteria). We had a great room and the lodge is nice and does not feel 'cookie cutter'. A short walk to the cafeteria. Breakfast buffet was a little disappointing - kept running out of silverware, one tiny toaster for 100 people, etc. but decent. Dinner was actually excellent and they have an efficient a la carte system that eliminates the need for servers. We had to stay outside the park as we needed internet access for work - it functioned well here. There's no way to see Yellowstone without a lot of driving, and this is about as good of location as any. 2.5hrs back to Jackson airport if you do not go through the park.

Bar n ranch On the edge of west Yellowstone staying in a Bar n Ranch cabin you do feel you are in the middle of nowhere, but a five minute drive to town gives good dinner options, although you can eat at the attached restaurant, which also provides a reasonable breakfast. Very peaceful location and seeing the stars on a clear night with no light pollution was amazing. The lounge in the main building was full of interesting features. All the staff were very friendly and would highly recommend for a stay to give easy access to Yellowstone.
