Normally, I would have given this place 3 stars, but for the money it was not a good deal. We had been on the road for a week when we got to the Red Lion Hotel. We had stayed in a variety of places, none more expensive than this hotel. All of them had rooms and facilities that were equal or better. All had breakfasts that were better.

From the moment we entered Red Lion we were welcomed with staff that makes sure the guests feel at home. Beds were comfortable, toiletries were of top quality, facility as a whole was clean. Breakfast was one of the best continental breakfasts I have ever had. Just wish there was guest laundry room.

The hotel is in a weird location, literally attached to the mall. It's also huge and rambling... a lot of walking to get to the elevators. And, the hotel is dirty and understaffed. Broken items included the coffee pot in the lobby (no coffee pot in the room, the ice machine on the hall, the hot tub jets, a few electrical outlets in our room, etc.. As per the eco-policy for linens (which I appreciate), at 8:30 am we requested a sheet change; when we got back at 4, the bed was still not done. The breakfast is in a nice atrium (at the mall entrance), but when we were there about 50 guests were eating and there was one staff person running the entire buffet. It was terrible; we felt so bad for her.

Chose the hotel for its proximity to the central business district. The hotel comprises a casino and is attached to Kalispell Center Mall. Inviting lobby, check in OK. Our room on the third floor overlooked the inner courtyard. Room amenities are a comfortable king bed, end tables either side of the bed, alarm clock toy charging plugs, air conditioning, writing desk, sofa chair with ottoman, microwave, fridge, small free bottle of water, shower with very soft water, (no tub, very smart choice), one luggage rack (two would be nice), TV (lots of channels), iron and board, closet, no safe, in room Keurig Coffee maker, dining room self service breakfast with hot and cold items included. We would stay here again.

Not so sure.

Booked last minute to stay for a child’s baseball game. Decent price for last minute. Have stayed several times in past but we were not thrilled this time. When we arrived the desk clerk was very unfriendly. No please, thank you or hello. We went up to our room to find that it had not been cleaned and had quite a mess everywhere. When we returned to the desk there was no apology or “sorry for the inconvenience” statements. Just handed another key and told to go to another room. This one was somewhat ok but had hair in the bathtub and rust that looks like blood on the ceilings. Generally not the cleanest room I have seen. The location of the hotel makes it very convenient when wanting to walk around downtown Kalispell but I will second-guess another stay here.
