We drove in just to see what was there... didn't eat nor did we stay overnight. First impression as we parked at the gift shop was that the grounds were neat and clean, well kept. Visited the gift shop, looking for a specific piece of jewelry. Very pleasant staff, lots of touristy-type items, with a nice-sized inventory of authentic Native American crafts and artwork. Bought a handcrafted bowl and a coffee mug made in China. The destination appears to be oriented around outdoor activities, picnic-ing, camping, local tours, etc. Worth the drive!

Best choice for Canyon De Chelly

Great location with nice grounds inside park. The on site cafeteria serves good food/reasonably priced, stables are within walking distance and tours booked through the lodge pick up out front and go straight to canyon without the annoyance of stops at other hotels. The rooms are well appointed, the free wifi is fast, and the technology multi-port in each room made it easy to recharge all our devices.

Homey, comfortable, clean.

My wife and I stayed in room 89, a double queen room. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The bathroom has been beautifully updated, however there was not one towel rack on which to hang used towels. We ended up using the coat rack for hand towels. Parking was right outside our room, however there is a low wall running the length of this section of the hotel that prevents access directly from the room. Walking around and back, or handing your bags over the wall, is necessary. There is a laundry available for guests a short walk from the room and the pricing is very reasonable. We took the half day tour of Canyon de Chelley. Think twice about eating in the cafeteria.

We booked the king suite and it was very homey. The sitting room and bedroom are separated allowing one person to stay up without disturbing another who is sleeping. The decor was tasteful and interesting. The fridge is a larger sized bar fridge. The bathroom was large and well-appointed. Wish that we had more than one night here. Our room was ready at a little after four; I'm not sure when the official check-in time was. It is very convenient to Canyon de Chelly and very reasonably priced.

Second time we’ve stayed there, first time was 9 years ago. It has a small trading post on site, with some touristy items. Some snack foods. Attached restaurant is horrible! Try to avoid eating there!
