Loved the old charm of the hotel. The staff was friendly, the store was quaint (and very reasonable for a gift shop) and I actually loved the cafeteria style restaurant. This really is the best spot if youre planning to visit the canyons for a couple days. We met the nicest people of our while trip while staying here and touring the canyon.

Staff were very unwelcoming on arrival. The room was a good size and felt comfortable. The bathroom was the smallest we'd had on our whole Roadtrip and it was a bit tired. The bath was stained with wear and you'd have difficulty moving around in the bathroom unless your slim. Breakfast wasn't included and can be bought from the adjoining cafeteria, but it would have felt better just to have paid a little extra and it be included. It has about 100 rooms and is well located for a visit to Canyon de Chelly, but there are many other motels/hotels around. If I was returning, I think I'd try somewhere else.

We slept well in a comfortable room at the back of the motel, exactly as pictured. Don't expect the Four Seasons, the bathroom is small, the towels only adequate, but we appreciated the larger than average fridge, the microwave and the hairdryer. The folks working at the Lodge are all welcoming and helpful. After shopping around we booked a day-long canyon tour through the Lodge and had a great experience with our guide, Harold. Glad we went on a Friday in Nov. The cottonwoods were a brilliant yellow, the sky remarkably blue and there was only one other couple along for the ride in a really cool all terrain vehicle. They even provided blankets! As we were leaving we saw photographers from Arizona Highways in the parking lot making there their canyon travel plans for a photo shoot.

Good location - lovely people.

Overnight stay while visiting Canyon de Chelly. Lovely quiet location with an old style motel layout that has well fitted and comfortable rooms. The Cafeteria has some great Navajo dishes, and the their chocolate cake is way above average. All the staff were lovely, friendly people - made you feel welcome and at home. Excellent gift shop. The hotel runs its own tours of Canyon de Chelly, but all their vehicles are open so not good in bad/cold weather. You can find other tour operators with jeeps/4x4s in Chinle.

This Lodge is not "glamorous" by any stretch of the imagination. But it is very comfortable and the rooms are spacious with everything you need. Room was very clean. It is very affordable and close to Canyon de Chelly. We took one of the guided tours to the bottom of the canyon. I would recommend this property to all who come to visit the canyon.
