Great staff, average accommodations. Convenient to the Canyon.

Very convenient to Canyon de Chelly. Typical budget hotel rooms. Microwave and mini-fridge worked well. Room had a table and two chairs. Also a patio table and chairs outside the room. Shower left much to be desired in terms of water pressure. As is so often the case, housekeeping was not all it could be. We stayed two nights, but the room was not made up while we were there. We had to request toilet paper, coffee, coffee cups from the front desk. There was no bath soap, but fortunately, we'd brought our own. Saddest of all was the stray dog who seems to live on the property.

Basic. Super basic. Would avoid in the future.

Room very outdated but seems adequately clean. We chose this property because it was a convenient location on a roadtrip, and the reviews were good. Would rearrange our route to avoid if we had known.

WARNING: Avoid this hotel

I am incredibly confused by all of the positive reviews after the experience I just had. First, the front desk agent was so incredibly rude and dismissive, didn't even believe that their property could be booked online even after I showed them my receipt from Expedia. I arrived at 5 pm with a sick kid and was hassled with phone calls all night to pay for the room a second time, even after calling Expedia and having them reach out to the property to confirm I had paid. In a double queen room, there was only a single towel. Food in the cafeteria was crusty and the dining area with filthy with random stuff stored and sitting everywhere. Our non-smoking room reeked of smoke so bad, but I was willing to put up with it so my sick kid could get some rest, but then the phone calls to my room started. In the end, I just ended up leaving around 8pm because I would rather them keep the money and me have to drive all through the night with a kid puking in barf bags than stay there. Nightmare experience. Avoid this hotel if you can.

The furniture was a bit worn but everything was clean and comfortable. The location is great, right at the canyon. We took the evening rim tour and a private tour into the canyon, and both tours were very enjoyable in open air safari-type vehicles. The cafeteria was ok and the food was good. There are really no other options in the area. There are 2 budget chain hotels nearby, but it was nicer to stay at a Navajo owned property. I would certainly stay here again if I ever re-visit the canyon.

MyDine friends nearby invited me to a birthday party... frybread!! Then we added a walk to the rim for sundown. A great day.
