Amazing... beautiful and great place to enjoy the Grand Canyon
Having visited the Grand Canyon several times, we decided this time we would stay on and witness sunsets and sunrises over this beautiful place. The property itself is located within the Grand Canyon National Park and is one of several building located on the south rim at Grand Canyon village. Outside the main lobby/check in area, there are several parking bays available for those checking in. Once checked in, we followed the little diagram/map we were given which detailed the location of our rooms. This was just off the access road and approx. 1 – 2 minute walk from the canyon itself. Parking close by can be a bit of a lottery, and a better chance at gaining a parking bay closer to your rooms would be after sundown when ‘day visitors’ have departed. The room itself is fairly well equipped with fridge, table, alarm clock (with USB sockets), tea / coffee machine, shower/WC, closet, safe deposit box, and of course a bed.
Just up the corridor was an ice machine, and also additional ladies and gents toilets. Access to the Grand Canyon is literally through the building and about 20 yards along the pathway. Wow, what a location. It would have been wonderful to have had a canyon view from our room, but we were close enough to have not made a difference. As we were only staying for 3 nights, we had opted at check in to defer the daily housekeeping visits and simply picked up fresh coffee supplies at the reception desk when needed. The main reception area also has additional toilets and shower facilities, and more importantly a water dispenser.
Grand Canyon Village does have several places to eat, whether you’re wanting restaurant’s, pizza/burgers etc. although you may need to make use of the free shuttle bus to get around.
Staying at the canyon overnight did allow us afford us the option of watching sunsets and sunrises, and also being able to enjoy the ‘dark skies’ over the canyon. Oh wow, what a sight. Living in a populated area with so much light pollution you become used to seeing the sky at night with only the brightest of stars. Standing in almost complete darkness, the sky was almost illuminated with a carpet of stars. Simply beautiful.
The simple question of would we stay at Bright Angel Lodge again would be a resounding yes. It's the perfect place for an early start to enjoy the Grand Canyon as a peaceful and reflective experience without all of the 'day' visitors. To sit overlooking the canyon as the sun comes up, or sets with fewer people around is just so relaxing and gives you time to appreciate the view without distractions.

We spent a couple of nights in one of the cabins. It was small, but contained everything we needed including a small refrigerator, safe, full bathroom, TV and k-cup coffee maker. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. There is no air conditioning, but it was not needed. The location is great, near the shuttle bus stop and Bright Angel Lodge and restaurants. Parking is at a premium—if you are lucky to get a spot close by, as we were, leave your car in its spot and use the buses to get around.

What an amazing stay! I had visited the Grand Canyon on a day trip a few years ago, and was impressed, but an overnight stay in a Bright Angel Cabin took our visit up many levels. Adorable and very functional cabin for two adults and a child ($10 for a nice twin sized cot), decent service and OH that view! We will be going back and staying again.

We spent one night in a cabin. It is very convenient to stay inside the park. The shuttle stop is just a few meters from the hotel and as we arrived in the evening it allowed us to see the sunset. The cabin is quite small but very clean, with a fan, a large bed, a nice bathroom. The only negative side was that there was no wifi during our stay. As there was no cellphone network either, that was quite annoying (no way to give news to our family). We had breakfast and diner in the hotel restaurant, that was ok. We had a car and found it easy to park it near our cabin. I recommend this place.

Very nice place to stay
Very comfortable, great staff and food is good too. The service at dinner was better at breakfast. Deborah at front desk was just great. Very polite, helped us to find a solution once we’ve arrived one day earlier than booked (our mistake!). She assisted us in a very nice way, provided information about the park and at the end was able to accommodate us. We did a sunrise tour with Tom and was just great!!! The best tour guide we’ve ever had!!!! One thing though about tours, most of it you can just use the shuttle to get to the places and not having to pay over 25$ for tours...but anyway it was a great tour because of Tom!!!
