I think this is a great place to stay, and is such an incredible VALUE. You’re literally on the rim, in a scenic and beautifully appointed park-appropriate retreat. It feels like you’re in a historic place: a great rustic vibe, with all the accoutrements to make your stay comfortable. We stayed in the lodge with a shared bathroom/shower and were surprised how nice and well maintained everything was, especially for the price we paid. I think it’s great that the park and the hotel keep affordable options open for the majority of Americans who want to experience the country’s wonders within a reasonable budget. Loved the spot, and would encourage couples, families and retirees to get here and make some memories!

Two beautiful day in the Grand Canyon National Park and one night in the amazing hotel "Bright Angel Lodge" ! Very nice situation, close to all the point of view, on the rim of the Canyon. Confortable and new building with rooms, nice and affordable restaurants.

We stayed in one of the cabins for two nights. It had snowed recently and some of the walkways were covered in snow and ice. The room was spacious and the bathroom was well stocked with supplies. Only comment about the room is you can hear the other people in the room beside you. They have a connecting door which is locked unless you needed two rooms together. We ate in the Bright Angel Lodge for all of our meals and we were always pleased with the service, quality of food and the price. Check-in time turned out to be closer to 4 p.m. than stated on some literature as 3 p.m. We booked two bus tours simply because it would have been difficult to hike with the snow and ice.

Enjoyed but had some problems

We had 2 rooms for one night (January 26 and 27 2019), then hiked to Phantom Ranch, then checked back in for one more night with two rooms (Jan 30). Our first 2 nights were great, we had rooms 6144 and 6141, adjoining, each with queen beds. The set-up of each was slightly different, but they were adorable and comfortable, and the adjoining set up was great for us. When we returned from our long hike up from Phantom Ranch, it was 2:00pm and our rooms were not ready yet, we were told though that they had us down as Phantom Ranch returns and our rooms would be given priority. We checked back multiple times over the next 2 hours, and at 4pm, official check-in time, our rooms were still not ready. Cold, sweaty, and tired, with dinner reservations coming up, we were not happy. We had been told the hotel was only around 50% occupied, so there really was no excuse to not have something ready for us at check-in time. They reluctantly upgraded one of our rooms to an available rim-side cabin so we could all start showering, and the second standard room was finally available at about 4:30. The rim side room was 6147, and it was lovely. However, if there were available rim-side rooms, clean and ready, they should have just assigned them to us without us having to beg for a room. The chances of someone wandering in in the afternoon of the off-season and wanting one of those was slim. I've worked concierge in a deluxe resort at Walt Disney World, so I have some familiarity with the lodging business, and felt the situation should have been handled more pro-actively. The second standard room was fine, but not as cute as the first two we were in. I can't recall that room number, but it seems due the age of the lodge and the set-up that rooms can vary quite a bit.

The hotel was much nicer in the winter weather. Cozy and complete with roaring fireplace. We were pleasantly surprised to have really great free internet in our room. (We had read there was only internet in the Welcome Lodge.) We had a specialty coffee drink in the bar and a very good dinner off a large menu. We had expected some issues due to the shut down but there were no problems of any kind. We were so happy in our room, the amenities, and the service was excellent. Of course the star feature was the Grand Canyon and it was so very beautiful- impossible to describe the vision, a must see. It was only 4 hours from Vegas and freeway most of the way.
