We shared a lodge for four, a bit cramped but perfectly adequate after a full days walking into the bottom of the canyon. We ordered the dinner which was an AMAZING steak. Staff really friendly and breakfast great (even at 5am)

CAbin on the Rim, fantastic
Our cabin was located just behind the Lookout Studio. It was spacious, very nicely decorated, and had a amazing shower and bath. There's heat, plenty of storage, a coffee maker and small fridge. We opted out of housekeeping during our 3 night stay and were left 2 Grand Canyon water bottles to thank us for saving water. We needed a new battery for our safe, and that was dealt with promptly. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. The history room was interesting. We ate 3 meals at the restaurant on site (not the steak house) 1 supper and 2 breakfasts, which were fine.

EXTRA CHARGES AFTER DEPARTURE!!!
Beware if booking by credit card. We paid IN FULL for two rooms in February. All went well and we checked out with no problems. Days later, after returning to the UK, charged appeared on my credit card statement. We had no ‘extras’ of any kind. (Even if we had, these should have been mentioned and settled at check out!). I emailed numerous times, no responses. I then made a costly call to the hotel from the UK to ask them to explain and sort the situation. They apologised and promised to call me back. NO RETURN CALL RECEIVED. This hotel clearly keeps your credit card details and uses them with no authorisation. I am currently going through a lengthy procedure with my credit card company to sort this. BEWARE!!!!

Rustic, nostalgic, and clean.
Checking in was easy. Staff was pleasant. Though the cabin did not have a view of the canyon, it was conveniently located. There was a refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker and a safety deposit box. It would have been nice to have a desk. The queen sized bed was firm and comfortable. The bathroom was clean. No wifi available though. Finding parking during the day is difficult.

It’s a wonderful building made of stones and wood standing on the Rim Trail, few yards away from the beginning of the Bright Angel Trail, Kolb studio, and also close to the meeting of blue and red shuttles. The Hall has a big fireplace and the restaurant offer good breakfasts, lunches and dinners. There is also a gift shop. The cabins are very nice, close to the rim trail and fares are very good. From here it’s easy to organize your days at Grand Canyon.
