We grabbed a room here as the lodge was full... which worked out okay. The motel's location is good for accessing most areas on the west side of the park. And it's a short walk from the lodge (read: food). The rain and dark skies did make the walk a bit challenging, but we didn't melt. The rooms are pretty basic. (Maybe my grandma stayed here when it was new?) But, what do you really need when you're in a historic place / national park and focused on enjoying the glaciers? We had clean sheets and towels, decent beds, Wifi and electrical outlets. And the smallest bathroom ever.

We did not get to finish our stay here, due to fires. But the nights we were there, it was clean and a great location. Staff was friendly. The downfall for us, was there was no access to the Lake from here. And getting evacuated at night. But they had a location set up and we were all given a new place to stay.

Very disappointed in this lodging. We had a very difficult time finding it in the dark because of lack of specific signage for it. It was not listed in our GPS and the office closes at 8:00 pm with no way to communicate with anyone associated with the motel after 8 pm. Parking was extremely limited. Our room was definitely on the shabby side which I would ordinarily not be bothered by since it was clean but at the price we paid for it, I found it disappointing. It had no mini refrigerator, no coffee maker, no A/C. It only had a shower stall in the bathroom. Since it had been a hot day, the room was quite hot when we went into it and did not cool off for several hours. On the plus side, it is very close to the beautiful Lake McDonald Lodge and McDonald Lake. It was also quiet.

Though not the most modern, this property was clean and conveniently located for our hike in the morning. The general store has ample food to pack for a hike and the lodge provided a wonderful meal in the evening. No ac, no tv, no problem—the fan along with comfy bed provided a good nights rest and communicated using WiFi.

Motel is next to the lodge with easy walking to all facilities. Room is clean with great wifi and the area is very peaceful. I would highly recommend. Due to fires across the lake we were evacuated at 9pm and the hotel gave us accommodation in Whitefish for the night at a resort. They looked after us in West Glacier whilst getting organised. It was greatly appreciated at a stressful time.
