Stayed at the Silver Gate Lodge for the 4th of July. The place it self is very charming, its incredibly remote, so not much around but its perfect. Everything felt clean and it was well prepped for its visitors. The store has everything you need, wifi is slow yet accessible. All is good here. The staff was a mix. The girl who checked us in was less than friendly, with an air of being annoyed with guests asking questions. She sat outside talking on her cell phone loud enough for all to hear her rude comments to whomever was on the other end. She said she was the manager over the phone, not sure if its true but if it is, I think there are others that work there that may be more suitable in the hospitality industry. Everyone else was incredibly friendly, another girl and guy who attended us were great.

The room was fine for my needs. There is a small table and chairs but nothing else to sit on. I had to ask the neighbors to quit slamming their door and car doors as the sound carried so bad right through the walls. This must be common for all lodging in the area as the Range Rider Lodge was the same and a family staying in Cooke City said the same (maybe the log construction). They would not lend me bear spray as my hotel in West Yellowstone did, probably because this place and Range Riders are run out of a general store that sells it, I could never get the WiFi to work so went down to the Cooke City Chamber of Commerce/museum to use theirs.

The views are spectacular, all you need in walking distance in this small, quaint area. Staff friendly, helpful. Cabins clean, comfortable, functional, adorable with homey touch. Glad I picked over hotel chain and will return. Wildlife wanders into cabin area which is a plus. Coffee pot in cabin but like camping you bring ALL your own food and condiments. Can purchase needed items in store or just coffee by the cup. Restaurant and another gift store across roadway. It was refreshing to have no tv, internet or phone service in cabin.

I stay at the Silvergate Cabins every summer and love the comfortable beds and cozy cabins. It isn't uncommon for a bison or mule deer to greet you in the early morning outside the door either! Silver Gate is a beautiful spot to enjoy a cozy evening tucked away in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. I strongly recommend the cabins as a great destination!

We stayed 3 nights in May 2019 and LOVED IT, Our cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We went to Cooke City every night to have a drink at the Saloon and then grilled out. I loved the little store.
