Hat Rock Inn is a surprise in the little town of Mexican Hat. We were on a 6 week road trip and this was a 3 night stopover. There is not a lot of choice of places to stay in Mexican Hat but I think we picked the right place. The rooms are pretty typical. My number one criteria was met -It was clean! Rooms are not large but there is a little table with 2 chairs. There is no elevator so you have to haul your luggage upstairs. The big surprise is the pool!! Check it out. The photos on-line are true to what you get. Just a great spot. Looks like a Vegas hotel with an outstanding view. There is a little cafe next door which had great breakfast burritos. Best I ever had.

Surprisingly Nice and Comfortable

The Hat Rock Inn is situated in a very, very, small town, in the canyon lands, but the room was well appointed, the staff was great, and what a gorgeous pool. Make sure to sit out for the sunset and stay to look at the Milky Way.

The room was exceptional. Very clean. The bathroom was spotless!! There is a river flowing behind the inn with picnic tables and solar ground lights in the evening. There is a path for mild hiking too. Just a perfect place to get in touch with yourself.

Ideal property for Valley of the Gods and Monument Valley. The rooms were large and comfortable and the view of the red rock across the river that runs behind the motel is just beautiful. The pool is small but nice with hot tub and sunbeds/chairs on terrace overlooking the river. We ate at the Olde Bridge Grill down the road - the Navajo taco and margaritas hit the spot. A really unique place.

That's all, it's just as good a motel experience as you can have. Such a unique place and occupies a such a unique and special place both culturally and geographically. There ain't a ton in Mexican Hat, so stay here.
