First impression of the motel; it looked abandoned. No internet, no ice machine (you have to drive to main hotel Izaak Walton Inn and BUY ice and pick up room supplies if needed), no room service, no amenities though you’re billed a resort fee, location was in need of some TLC and landscaping, weeds everywhere, picnic tables and sitting areas were uninviting. Room was decent, nothing special, ceiling fans could use some dusting. We would not recommend unless it’s your last resort. Main hotel staff was ok..

We booked here as the group we were traveling with already had reservations. Our expectations weren't high, as there were no recent reviews to read. It is necessary to check in at the Izaac Walton Inn just a couple minutes away. Our room was ready after 4 pm, I needed a hair dryer and they provided one at check in. Our room was small but sufficient, with a queen bed and a futon (which we used to set our luggage on). Clean bathroom and bed was comfy! There was a TV but we didn't watch any as we were exhausted both nights after being in the park all day. Porch with chairs outside. There are also picnic tables available. Some reviews complained about hearing the train all night, but truthfully, it didn't bother us at all. The Half Way Hotel is about 30 minutes from the park entrance. We enjoyed our stay there, no complaints and the price was certainly right! Definitely would stay again on our next visit.

No coffee, no working tv, no internet, no chair, no lamp, no fresh towels, no clean sheets, or beds made for 3 days! (And that only after we demanded!) This was the only disappointing moment of our trip.

If the Izaak Walton is full...

If the Izaak Walton hotel is full, this is really about the only place to stay overnight between West and East Glacier. It is adequate and clean. Luckily for us, the small hotel (which is right next to Hwy 2) was completely full so we didn’t feel alone. The television did not work but that was a minor inconvenience. Have a nice dinner at the Izaak or a drink and lite supper in the pub bar downstairs and retire for the night at the Halfway and be on your way in the morning!
