Hidden gem outside Yellowstone National Park
My brother in law Andy has been staying here for 20 years. My wife and two boys just stayed here and now I see why he has been encouraging us to come and visit Yellowstone and stay here.
First the hotel is right outside Yellowstone and walking distance to great places to eat and shop which is a huge plus. It is considerably cheaper then staying at Yellowstone. The hotel is on the historic register and is very old but very nice. The room was very clean and roomy and the service was excellent.
I would highly recommend this place and I am definitely coming back here to stay. We met the owner Garret who is very friendly and always seem to make sure we were have a good stay.

Nice & Well Kept!
I loved this hotel! First, I thought the price was fair given it is summer and West Yellowstone. We were given an additional discount for booking direct with the hotel. The room was clean and very well kept, just perfect! There are many perks such as coffee & hot chocolate machines available. Guests also get an additional 10% off at the gift shop. The location couldn't be beat. We were also given meal tickets for the Timberline Cafe next door, which was really good! My new favorite hotel in West!

Fun place to stay
Cute and comfortable place to stay right outside of west Yellowstone. It was clean and close to laundry and food options. The bathrooms and showers were available every time we wanted to use them. We really enjoyed staying here.

Friendly, family owned hotel
This is a historic property, so the rooms don't have the amenities one expects in a newly-built facility. Most of the small rooms don't even have en-suite bathrooms. But it's a family-owned business which has been in existence for more than 100 years.
There's an attached gift shop and a diner a few steps away.
The coffee is available all day and night but breakfast is *not* included.
Probably because the tourism season is short, prices for lodging in West Yellowstone are high everywhere.
Rooms are on the second floor, up a rustic stair.

I was traveling with a group of adult students on a college trip to Yellowstone. We stayed 2 nights at the Historic Madison in the Motel rooms. They were great! Roomy, comfortable beds with refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms. Garrett and Jan were wonderful hosts and very helpful in setting us up with the block of rooms we needed. I would stay there again in a heart beat!
