From the outside, this place looked amazing. A great log cabin lodge. The inside was also inviting with a small dining area with rustic decor. The breakfast menu included many breakfast staples. There was one waitress working, and although adequate she was not in a huge hurry. There appeared to be some communication issues going on between her and the cook, which resulted in some issues with other patrons. Our food came out on time and tasted fine. On a non-food related issue, the only bathroom was not functioning. When I made the staff person at the desk aware, she said ok, and did not fix it as far as I know. Overall, we were a little disappointed in our experience.

We selected this hotel since it was close to West Glacier (~12min drive to the park). We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well maintained it was. The rooms were rustic with all the modern amenities. I would highly recommend this hotel. Small note: The restaurant at the hotel was decent but I think there are better alternatives close by.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in one of the rustic motel rooms. We loved being only about 7 miles from the West Entrance to Glacier Park. After hiking most of the day it was very convenient that the restaurant on site was open later until about 10:00 p.m. The restaurant had great food and we loved the huckleberry sundae.

We stayed several nights in the motel units. Despite the name "historic" the rooms were modern enough. It had a small A/C unit, fridge and microwave. The beds were separated from each other by the bathroom. Each had a TV oriented towards the bed, we were able to access basic channels, though more modern options might be available. The rooms were clean, comfortable and warm. Fairly small bathroom - shower only - was in the unit. Not right next to the West Entrance of Glacier, but not too far either - we drove there several times from the lodge and it was convenient enough. We ate breakfast at the small lodge restaurant twice. Both times the food and service were great, and there was no wait time. If you go a bit west into the town of Hungry Horse there's a sweet shop, The Huckleberry Patch, that sells a bunch of huckleberry goods that would make great gifts (they also have ice cream and pie but we'd already eaten so I can't attest to that). The town also has a full grocery - maybe not quite as full as I'm used to being from the Chicago suburbs - but after being on the less populated east side of the park I found this to have a lot of selection including good fresh fruit. We also had a little bit of time to spend and discovered a lovely area around Hungry Horse Dam.

The cabin was small and cozy but had all necessary amenities. The attached bar/restaurant was good. There is a short trail from the property into the national forest. Only drawback was that the bathroom was tiny. But we had a good stay and would stay there again. It was very close to the national park.
