The cabin was small and cozy but had all necessary amenities. The attached bar/restaurant was good. There is a short trail from the property into the national forest. Only drawback was that the bathroom was tiny. But we had a good stay and would stay there again. It was very close to the national park.

What a wonderful place to stay. We stayed inside the hotel and our room was spacious and rustic. I really enjoy the cabin like feel with the real log cabin walls and wood through out the whole lodge. The place has some cozy fireplaces to sit up next to for the cold winter nights. The food was really good and reasonable price. This was a great place to stay and not to far from Glacier National Park.

Be sure you can honor your reservation

Because of the seasonal nature of vacationing in this area it was recommended that we book our room as far in advance as possible. For us that was 4 months. Well a lot can happen in 4 months and sure enough we had to cancel. They do not refund your deposit, and that is made clear at booking. However spending $246 for and getting nothing in return is hard to take. We hope to be able to reschedule our visit for next year, but it is doubtful that we would take the chance on booking here again. There are too many options available to risk losing another deposit.

So we loved our cabin that we were upgraded to. Had a full kitchen which I used to cook a nice meal from the well stocked grocery store in Hungry Horse. Everything was perfect from easy check in to nice sunset through the trees The room was very clean, beds comfortable and shower hot. Perfect for us Thanks!

Unauthorized charge on my credit card

I pre-booked at a set rate. When I arrived I asked for a room in a different location than the one offered; the hotel was virtually empty and this was granted. The room I used was smaller than the one originally booked and did not appear any better so it did not occur to me, nor was I told, that the room represented an upgrade at a substantially higher rate. (I wouldn't have taken it if I knew it was) When an extra charge appeared on my credit card I contacted the hotel and they refused to reverse the charge even though the charge had not been authorized. There's a basic principle that when credit card information is provided to a vendor, it is not to be used as a blank cheque and only authorized amounts are to be charged, regardless of what the hotel thinks the amount should be. Otherwise, why would anyone give over their credit card info if they didn't know what the hotel would charge until they got home and saw the bill? So I'll have the credit-card company reverse the charge myself. Aside from this, on the plus side; my stay was pleasant, the hotel was well located for access to Glacier Park, and all the stuffed animals in the lounge gave it a certain charm. On the negative side; the room was tiny, it is on a busy highway and there was no breakfast available on-site (it was their off-season)
