We stayed in the Iceberg cabin. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The hardwood floor and doors were beautiful. It was quiet and in a nice wooded setting. The cabin had two comfortable queen size beds, plenty of fluffy white towels, a spacious livingroom and bathroom, and a complete kitchen. There is only one bathroom, but it worked out great for the four of us. The cabin is perfectly situated next to Glacier Nat'l Park. Our first night we were tired, so we ate at the on-site restaurant. The food was very good and reasonably priced with a nice atmosphere. We stayed with two couples and it was a nice getaway. We had a little trouble with the cleaning staff one day, but Carolyn, the Finance Manager resolved it to our satisfaction. One thing I would change is they had a grease pot sitting on the counter by the stove. I would just ask guests to not put grease down the drain. It was pretty disgusting. (My grandmother saved her bacon grease for eggs, but it was used frequently. Amazingly, she lived to be 95.) The grease at the Lodge looked like it was decades old. Also beware, there is a tree right behind the Iceberg cabin. It looks like it has been backed into many times. We hit it with our bike rack, but were able to get a replacement part for the broken plastic. A few reflectors on the tree might be helpful:) Overall a nice place to stay just outside the park. I would stay here again.

Historic Tamarack Lodge is a beautiful place to stay. The cabins are wonderful - and the lodge itself is wonderful for breakfasts and dinners. You can also get fabulous lattes in the morning at the bar! The wait staff is amazing and very helpful.

There was something so great about this place. We come from a busy, urban area in Europe, so maybe it was just the peace, quiet and friendliness of the staff that did it but I would highly recommend this Lodge. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms. It was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and clean. There is good wi-fi for planning your day in Glacier NP and the parking is right outside. The best part is the little bar and restaurant though. The staff were chatty, easy going and made us feel like locals. there was something cool about watching the game on the TV, sitting at the bar knowing you are surrounded by the beauty of Montana. The restaurant itself was very comfortable and the food was of a good quality and very reasonably priced for what you got. Also, the beer was ice cold and just what we needed after a long day in the outdoors. You are only 5-10 minute drive to the West Glacier (Apgar) entrance and 20 minutes from Whitefish, which is a great little town. This place is comfortable and practical for such a remote area and charges literally a third of what you would pay in the national park itself. No brainer.

First off, it's real, dating back to the turn of the past century. We had a room upstairs in the lodge, which was heavily wooded, dark, and quiet. A great place to sleep and recharge before heading back into the Park. The staff was very friendly and we had a wonderful breakfast downstairs. We also took the 300 yard hike behind it to the Beaver Pond, where we brought chairs and read, far removed from everyone and everything. Of particular note, there was a large wedding taking place while we were there. Having stayed at hotels where weddings were taking place that only ended when the cops arrived at four in the morning, I was apprehensive. But sure enough, right on the stroke of ten everything quieted down. I was really grateful to the management.

Staying at the Historic Tamarack Lodge, was pretty much everything we anticipated. Having planned our trip months in advance, we had looked at every picture & review. We were not disappointed! We stayed in the Stimpson lofted cabin. It was very nice with all the amenities we needed. Having a full size fridge was awesome , as we had lots of stuff to keep us satisfied. Full size coffee maker was a bonus for us! The Queen size bed upstairs was very comfortable, allowing a good nights rest! We visited in late August 2019 and the nights were beautiful, cool and nice. There is only one thing I would caution people with. Coming down the stairs to use the bathroom during the night was a bit challenging. There is a light, but I didn't want to turn it on and wake the Hubby. However, I would stay there again in a minute! Very clean and accommodating. We visited Glacier NP for 4 days and the Tamarack Lodge was so close. Loved coming back after a long day of hiking. And the Saloon & restaurant were amazing! We had the best Prime Rib for dinner on a Saturday night, so good. The drinks were freshly made and that Montana mule was fantastic! All and all, it was a wonderful stay with very nice people.
