We stayed three nights. We arrived after a long drive and opened the door to our room. We were welcomed with a toasty, warm and cozy place to enjoy our stay. We spent the first day driving to Cooke City and back, hopefully spotting some elk and other wildlife When we returned to the room, an elk was peacefully grazing below our balcony. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was great.

Great place to stay to visit Yellowstone in winter

Gardiner is less than 6 miles to the Mammoth Hot Springs area of Yellowstone, which is the only visitor's center you can drive to in winter. This hotel is not modern, but it has clean, comfortable rooms, and there's free WiFi. The outlets are a little awkward to access (the lamps had AC outlets but some adapters can't plug in properly) so you might want to bring a short extension cord if this matters. We had a room with a balcony with a great view of the Yellowstone River, but as it's winter, we didn't make much use of it. No elevators, but there are rooms on the first floor. Staff are friendly, helpful, and on the one day when it snowed, they even removed the snow from around our car without us asking - much appreciated! There's no laundry facilities, but there is a laundromat less than 1/4 mile walk across the bridge, and there's a grocery store about 0.3 miles away. There's also a few places to eat nearby, but pay attention to their opening hours, especially in winter. While it might be a little more convenient staying in the hotel inside Yellowstone, one bonus of staying in Gardiner - we saw Bighorn sheep, mountain goats, elks, and the occasional bison on the drive from Gardiner to Mammoth Hot Springs. And the only time we saw pronghorns was just outsider Gardiner. Very glad we picked this location, and we'd like to come back again.

Solid choice, clean basic, good service and location.

Stayed here for one night! very clean and neat, a little older but not bad! Right in the middle of town, easy access to restaurants and Yellowstone National Park! Entrance less than five miles away! such a nice man that runs the office!

Excellent lodge nearby the northern entry of Yellowstone NP. Located next to the river; all rooms have a balcony with river view. We had a Queen suite, spacious, with kitchenette with oven and stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, seating area, airco, tv, heating, coffee machine. No meal option. Three floors no elevator. Minus point: poor Wifi.
