Not 3, 4, or 5 in Hotel Mgmt and service
Really? Averills don’t pay enough. My goodness! bring in Hilton or Marriott. Great facility, but managed with NO personality. Temps as managers....😂😂😂 Seriously, few choices in town. Good concierge service and Lorelei was very helpful. Nice marina with many rental options.
Wi-fi was the suckiest EVER!

Service at The Lodge at Whitefish Pool and Tiki Bar
I spent a couple of weeks in Whitefish with a long time friend. It was our first time there and boy did I ( we) love it. I could write a 5 star review about dozens of places that we visited but I’m going to focus on the swimming pool and tiki bar service at the lodge. My friend and I received the most amazing pool side service from a young gentleman by the name of Eli Joos. If you are going to lay out at the pool MAKE SURE you ask if Eli is working before you lay down your towel. We were at the pool the week before and although the service wasn’t bad, it was also nothing to rave about. Eli makes you feel like you’re a Four Seasons resort.... he checks in on you through out the day, he asked us what our names are, if you’re not at your lounge chair he will find you to hand you your drink, he picks up used cups and plates, he is witty, intelligent and kind. A rare find these days. It’s funny how a simple gesture like asking you how your lunch is or asking you where you are from can make such a huge difference to someone. ( a guest) Whitefish Lodge management should keep their eye on this kid! One more shout out for the tiki bar manager, pat joos. Not only was he grateful for our compliments, he was also friendly and helpful during our visits. He remembered us after just one visit. He always said hello and it looked to me like he manages his staff very well. Thanks to Eli and Pat for making my first trip to Whitefish truly memorable. Because of the two of you, I will be sending friends, clients and strangers from CA to The Lodge at Whitefish.
FYI trip advisor readers that the pool is only for guests of the lodge or spa guests.

Excellent! Exceeded our expectations.
We rented one of the condos for 5 days. We had read some of the reviews of the condos being outdated, but ours was magnificent (see pictures). We LOVED it!!! It was so new, clean and LARGE. It was a two bedroom, two bathroom unit. The Boat Club restaurant at the Lodge had great food as well as drinks by the pool. All condos have a lake view and the pictures on their web site really don't do this hotel justice. We found the staff to be friendly and responsive. They have a great little gift shop where we shopped a couple of times. We will definitely be back. It's a great place to stay in Whitefish and not all that far from Glacier National Park. We were very pleased!

Nice resort, good location.
We stayed in a two bedroom Lakeside condo. It was very expensive, about $800 per night including taxes. It was never explained it to me when I made the reservation and I don’t recall seeing it on the website at all, but apparently cleaning service is a not included in the Lakeside condo rental. You can pay an extra $60 a day to have a cleaning service. Given the price point and how much you’re paying, that seems a little ridiculous. If you call they did bring you more towels, but they never removed the dirty towels. We had a condo on the first floor which walked out to a grassy area and the Pebble Beach and overlooked the marina. Given some of the other reviews I’ve read, I think we had a more upgraded condo that had solid surface flooring and not carpet. The flooring was a vinyl fake wood. Carpet would have been gross. The kitchen was stocked with some standard items like plates and cups and some cooking things, but it did not include a critical piece of equipment which was skillets. You had nothing to cook an egg or other thing requiring a skillet. There was a list of kitchen equipment and it stated that there were two skillets, but there were no skillets. There was only one bowl, so for cereal or other things requiring a bowl we mostly use the mugs as bowls. Only two stemless wine glasses. All in all, the kitchen was disappointing in terms of what was included in the stocked kitchen.
The view of the lake and sunsets at night was breathtaking. The ability to walk outside to the grassy area and play was wonderful. I really liked having a first floor unit.
We planned to reserve a boat during our stay and were surprised to know that for the most part the boats were all reserved and sold out. So if you want to reserve a boat I would recommend doing it way in advance of your trip. The marina looks really big and lots of boats, but I think a lot of them are private boats for nearby residents. We were able to reserve a pontoon boat for two hours, but that was the only thing available. It worked out perfectly fine, but I just wanted to warn others that they should make reservations in advance.
The outdoor pool gets pretty crowded. During the day it isn’t as crowded I think because people are out and about, maybe in glacier national Park or the nearby ski resort. But in the late afternoon it gets very crowded and there is no place to sit around the pool.
The location of the resort is very nice and the shuttle service is helpful. It was very easy to reserve the shuttle and to get in and out of town for dinner reservations. We never had to wait for more than five minutes for a shuttle. I have been to other resorts where the shuttle service takes a very long time, but this was pretty timely and useful. I think this is a nice amenity that they provide.
We had a nice time at the ski resort area which had plenty of things to do for an afternoon. We also enjoyed the red bus tour of glacier national Park and a scenic float trip. It takes about 35 to 40 minutes to get to glacier national Park in the morning.
This was our first trip to Montana and we really liked it and enjoyed it. I think this resort is probably the nicest resort in the area. But just be warned about the cleaning service in the condos and lack of kitchen equipment. We would still recommend to others but just want to raise awareness.
One other thing to note is that the lake is difficult to swim in. The beach is made out of pebbles, so definitely bring water shoes. But the bottom of the lake is kind of a slimy quicksand type bottom and was virtually impossible to walk out and swim in the lake. The resort really should do something about it, maybe create a dock that will take you out to deeper water where you can jump in and swim.
