We Had a Great Room

I booked a couple of nights at this hotel because we were attending a wedding there. I found a deal on their website for a bed and breakfast package, so we were able to order any breakfast on the menu each morning with our stay. I began to get a little nervous about the rooms after reading some of the reviews, but we were SO surprised and happy with what we got, I am scratching my head wondering if the people who wrote the bad reviews even stayed at the same hotel. Our room was VERY spacious and clean. There were actually two air conditioners, a free standing one and the unit in the wall. I thought perhaps the free standing one was there because the wall unit didn't work, but no, the wall unit worked fine. The windows also opened, which was nice for some fresh air. There was a nice separate area which was in a little hallway that had the coffee maker and the fridge, a closet with two robes provided, and a vanity with a large mirror. Through another door was the toilet and shower, with another sink. It was all very convenient. The bed was very comfortable and I got a couple of great nights sleep. There wasn't a lot of hallway noise or noise from other rooms like some people complained about in their reviews. We also enjoyed our breakfast, and the hotel staff were all extremely friendly and polite. I would certainly stay here again.

Rooms and maintenance not up to the price

Housekeeping and maintenance were very poor. I asked twice to have the outside door by my room fixed so it locked but this was never done. Anyone could (and did) open it. There was a broken window lock that I called about the first day. It was removed and never replaced FOR A WEEK! Very poor service. Housekeeping was near useless. All they did was make the bed (badly.) Sometimes they replaced towels, but often not. I had to call to get my trash emptied. Floor was never mopped, counters never cleaned, cups/coffee never replenished. But the worst problem was the sound insulation. I could hear every step from the room above me. I woke more then once thinking there was someone walking IN my room! And there was some vibration that shook the bed closest to the bathroom. I couldn’t sleep in it. Finally, your location is way too cold for an open shower. I had to hang a towel to stay warm. The front desk, dining, concierge service were super. Food was fine. But everything about the room was disappointing. Even the upholstered chairs were old and so broken I never sat in them despite having opted for a suite. I would never recommend your hotel and particularly would warn any woman traveling alone that she won’t be safe and you won’t care.

Came to Grouse Mountain Lodge for a Meeting, but Would Stay Again

We stayed at Grouse Mountain Lodge for a Meeting, but we would stay there again, It was a very nice location and the staff was very friendly. A shuttle picked us up at the airport and we very willing to offer rides to the downtown area for shopping or eating out. The back of the property is along a golf course and at night deer can be seen in the area. We did not take advantage of the pool and hot tub, but there was a very nice fire pit to sit around after sunset. We enjoyed our stay.

Everyone at the lodge was so nice and so accommodating to our young family (kids ages 1 and 4). This lodge was a total gem and helped make our trip to Montana. We would definitely come back and have already recommended the lodge to a number of friends and family. Thanks GML for running such a classy operation and a big cheers to all your great shuttle drivers!
