Great Location, Disappointing Comfort

Despite the Grand Hotel's prime Grand Canyon location, our stay was a letdown, especially at over $500 per night. The most glaring issue was the beds; uncomfortably high at the bottom, sagging in the middle, paired with overly firm pillows, leading to a poor night's sleep. The pool was just average, offering little beyond basic enjoyment for the kids. Interestingly, we spent our first night inside the park at an older, cheaper hotel right beside the canyon. Despite its age, that hotel provided far more comfortable beds and a better overall experience. Given the Grand Hotel’s disappointing amenities and lack of comfort compared to a less expensive option right in the park, I regretfully leave a one-star review.

The Grand Hotel was awesome. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The guestroom was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub especially with it being in February. We ate in the dining room two nights and the food was fabulous along with the wait staff. I had the best seabreeze drink ever made for me. The best part it was only a mile from the entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park. We would definitely go back.

Wonderful and convenient hotel for visiting the Grand Canyon

I loved this hotel. It has an unbelievable main atrium, with at least 15 giant trees growing inside under a big sky light, and the rooms ring the atrium. There is a hot tub in the atrium (under the trees). The hotel shares a lot with the Grand Canyon Visitor center in Tusayan - there is a very cool IMAX movie about the Grand Canyon - which is a 1 minute walk. The staff were super friendly. A real person answers the phone when you call, and they are very helpful. The place is a little dated, very clean, and very convenient. I found it be much nicer than many of the chain hotels, because it feels warmer and more authentic. Not corporate at all. Rooms are big, clean, beds comfy. There is a decent restaurant and a decent bar inside the hotel. Nothing special, but very convenient. For day tripping to the Grand Canyon, it’s perfect. About a 15 minute drive to the South Rim parking lots if you leave early to beat the traffic. Also, the value is excellent.

This place is diiiirtttyyy and old. Shower had black mold, door didn’t shut the whole way to the hallway, bathroom smelled like it needed to be cleaned and the sink clogged. Gross! Don’t recommend. Also the phone was zip tied to itself so it wasn’t able to be plugged in…

Outdated rooms and lobby.

The location of this hotel is amazing. But the rooms and lobby are extremely outdated, carpets are old. When I got to my room it smelled of chlorine. The heater unit is ancient and noisy. Lobby is decorated with dusty old stuffed animals. Breakfast choices are very basic. Dinner was unimpressive. Staff are slow.
