Beautiful view and perfect family setting!
Village Inn at Apgar was a perfect setting for our family of 5 vacation. We had a family room that comfortably slept all five of us. All rooms face the lake and have a beautiful sunrise view. The lake provided hours of entertainment. The rooms were clean and well stocked, and the grounds were kept very clean. We would definitely return to stay here again!

What a view!
My husband and I recently had a fantastic stay at the Village Inn at Apgar in a queen motel room. The motel was built in the 1950s--and looked it, both inside and out; it really capitalized on a retro theme. We entered our first-floor room directly from outside (lakeside). The room was somewhat crowded, with nightstands on each side of the bed, two easy chairs with small table, and a dresser. The bathroom was also small with just a little shelf space and a tub/shower; there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure.
Although small, the space was clean and functional. There were sufficient outlets, including ones on the bedside lamps, for charging our devices. The drapes blocked early morning daylight adequately. Although we could sometimes hear our neighbors conversing, everyone seemed to observe the posted quiet hours (10pm to 6am, if I recall correctly); it was absolutely quiet through the night. Wi-fi worked fairly well in our room. The room had a coffee-maker with coffee and tea restocked with daily. There was also a handy ice machine near the stairway to the second floor.
Office and housekeeping staff were helpful and pleasant. Dedicated parking for the motel was along the front (non-lakeside), although one evening all the spaces were full. We parked on the street nearby and had no problems. We liked being able to walk in the Village and to the Visitor Center.
The best part was the view of Lake McDonald and the mountains beyond from both the room’s large window and the Adirondack chairs right outside our door! It was so relaxing to sit outdoors and take in the magnificent scenery at any time of day. Everything about our stay was fine. However, it is the unsurpassed view that makes us want to return again and again.

Loved it here
We had a first floor unit with a full kitchen, table, and chairs. The kitchens are stocked with plates, silverware, pots/pans, fridge, microwave most everything you would need to prepare meals. Our room had two queen beds and a sofa in the bedroom area. It was spacious and I liked that it also had a nightlight in the bathroom which had a tub. They recently did a remodel and I loved the retro theming. It was like staying with my Grandparents. The room was basic and had everything we needed. I loved being able to leave the windows open at night as it was very quiet and peaceful. The unit had two doors; one that opened to the parking area and one that opened next to the lake. It was nice to sit out there, relax, and enjoy the amazing view. It can get a little noisy depending on your neighbors/children playing but everything gets very quiet after 9:30. The registration area closes at 8 each evening. I wish we had planned an extra day just to stay and enjoy the Village and the lake. Great place to stay. Book early as soon as the reservations open as it fills up fast.

Best view of my trip
Arriving in the afternoon to sit and look at the stunning view from a chair outside our room was one of the best moments of a recent trip to Montana. You really can't beat the view! I woke up a couple times during the night and peaked out the window to see the view again in different lights and at sunrise. Amazing!
The beds were comfy, the room was clean, bathroom good (nice shower head). The only thing that I could possibly complain about was that it was a little too warm (there's no AC in the hotel) but it was the end of July so it really can't be helped and the problem was solved by turning on the fans provided. We stayed in the 'family' room which has 1 queen bed and a twin in the main room and then there is another small room with another queen bed. Great set up, very enjoyable stay. Right near the entrance to West Glacier, convenient to some little shops and restaurants. Rooms open right out to the beach and Lake McDonald.

Beautiful spot on Lake McDonald
We were taken back by the view from our room. Lake McDonald with the Mountains surrounding it was breathtaking! The service at the desk was very friendly and helpful and the little village of Apgar was convenient, clean and within walking distance. Loved our stay!
