Nice hotel by the lake
It's a good location and a good hotel.
The lake is right out the front door and the view is incredible.
The manager is on call with an after hours buzzer by the office door. There was a mouse in my room. The manager took care of it and we were satisfied with his response late at night.
Given the location in a National Park and the surroundings of nature, one can expect mice and other issues that might not occur in a chain hotel.
It's a park hotel, you are paying for the location, the room itself is not going to be exceptionally clean or meet your expectations.

Very nice, helpful staff
Jeff and Linda who work the front desk were top notch. Very kind, friendly, and helpful. Linda gave me some very useful travel tips. And, Jeff brought my suitcases to my room for me and also brought us a cooler to use during our stay. The downstairs units have a kitchenette but the upstairs units only have a table and chairs, no refrigerator and no microwave. We had the 2 beds, one twin unit which are the upstairs units. One of the beds is in a room to itself which offered much needed privacy as we were two women traveling together. There is no elevator or lobby. The units are old and dated and my bed was worn but the spectacular view of Lake McDonald is the compensation. And the big porch overlooking Lake McDonald was very conducive to meeting your neighbors which I totally enjoyed because I like meeting other travelers and hearing their stories. The view makes this the place to stay in Apgar. I would like to give 5 stars but I can’t. We stayed 3 nights and although housekeeping was very kind and pleasant, all they did was make the beds, empty trash, and change out the towels. Floors were not cleaned nor the bathroom. The sink was really yucky by the third day. The rooms are expensive here plus there a surcharge we didn’t know about until checkout. Great place for an overnight but I would not recommend any longer.

What a view!
We didn’t know what to expect on arriving at Apgar but when we got our room we were amazed. What a view and what a nice room. We were on the first floor of the building overlooking Lake McDonald. We could have sat out on the chairs outside our door for days. Such a great spot with a kick back, low key feeling. Swim, kayak or just relax. No wonder the people next to us come up for a week every year!

This place is amazing. We spent 3 nights but wished we could have stayed longer. The views from the rooms are majestic. The staff was great. The location was perfect. Shops, great pub and general store just a short walk away. Rooms were good with chairs just outside so you can relax and enjoy the spectacular landscape. It will not disappoint you. Book early. It fills up fast.

We just returned from 10 days in Glacier and Waterton. We absolutely loved this place! You are literally right ON Lake McDonald- the view is gorgeous! Apgar village has little shops, Eddy's restaurant, kayaks and bikes to rent...and you dive out and you are in Glacier. Our stay coincided with the Northern Lights -- which were a "tease"-- (but I'll take it), which was fantastic. Book early to assure you can get in.
