This is a great hotel right in West Glacier and is a perfect home base for a week in the park. The rooms are very simple, but very clean. I really like the quaint feel and the nice front porch. They have a wonderful restaurant right there that has some very delicious pies. Price is high, but in line for the area.

I'll agree with other reviews that this is definitely NOT a resort....but given that we were not there to hang around the room, it was extraordinarily convenient - right across the street from the train station - and 2 miles from the entrance to Glacier National Park. I will also say this - the bed was wonderfully comfortable. I would recommend that the look of the room would be greatly improved by more attractive, cotton quilts. A minor point, but these had that shiny, 50's motel look...When I was trying to plan the trip from home - we were totally unfamiliar with the area - those manning the phones at the inn were helpful and patient in giving me a sense of distances, temperature, etc. I was very grateful for that.

two nights - same as a motel 6 hotel

We booked this hotel months ago expecting a nice resort hotel for 140.00 a night. At first glance, it looks cute well kept and cozy. Once in the room, we found it to be motel 6 quality. 2 beds economy bedding a refrigerator small desk. The window blinds allow all the light in from the very bright LED light out side every room. No need for a night light in this room. The room hosts a 36 in tv mounted 8 inches below the ceiling. Satellite TV brings you the local channels, no premium channels. The most disappointing part of this economy hotel is the lack of a coffee maker in the room. Other convenience missing are Kleenex, air conditioning (didn't need, cool nights) and a little charm. Finally the hotel is across the street from a very busy train track. We did here the train travel throughout the night. Had we known this was the case with this property, we would have booked elsewhere. Needs a little but of class.

Should Have Stayed in Whitefish

We were a bit baffled as to why this is called a resort. It is a motel at best and is right across the highway from a very busy set of train tracks. It is close to the entrance of West Glacier and it is located within walking distance of an excellent restaurant (Belton Chalet Dining & Tap Room). I was surprised by how easy the drive was from Whitefish to this location, so if you'd prefer to stay closer to Whitefish, I would recommend it. The rooms were clean, there is no AC, the bathrooms are tiny but clean, there is no refrigerator, and it is quite a rumble when the trains come by.

The location for travel on Amtrak is exceptional. Rooms are basic and would be greatly enhanced by adding coffee makers. There is no place in all of West Glacier to buy coffee before 7 a.m. This is a real problem for those of us who are early risers. Also there is no possibility of checking into room before 3 p.m. even when there are rooms available. This just seems rude.
