Nice quiet hotel
Surprised we could get a reservation right near Grand Canyon. Walking distance to Big E Steakhouse (super yummy). Quiet hotel, nice beds and staff. Cut our trip short and front desk very accommodating and not problem. Morning breakfast typical hotel style.

Nothing special... smelled like hotdog water
It literally smelled like hotdog water. The hotel was fine, minus the smell, but the hotel is in need of an update. The one plus was the small indoor pool and hot tub. The rooms were clean but our clothes still smell like stale cigarettes, even though neither of us smoke and the room didn’t actually smell like stale cigarettes, just the hallways. Expensive price for what you get. I’ve stayed at better holiday inns.

Great choice for Grand Canyon
This hotel is a great choice for the Grand Canyon village. The rooms are great and significantly less expensive than staying in the lodges in the park. The breakfast included in the room price was great and there were tons of options. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Meh - which isn't bad, but isn't anything special either
This hotel is everything you would expect and wouldn't expect for a Holiday Inn Express. It was clean, modern, and a hotel you basically only want to spend time sleeping in - which is often what your want on a vacation to a place like the Grand Canyon. A decent, hot breakfast was included.
However, the check-in experience was quite frustrating: there is no registration parking, so we had to find a regular parking place far from registration. Thinking ahead we dropped most our bags off while I parked the car and made the trek back to register. There we were told our room was at another building a block away so we had to hike back to the car, come pick everything up again then drive and re-park at the new building. So simple to fix if they only had a few reserved registration parking spots.

One night at the Holiday Inn Express Grand Canyon/Tusayan
Being IHG members, it was great having a familiar hotel to spend the night. While we did consider staying inside the park, this was the better choice for us. Seeing some of the lodges while exploring the park on the 2 days we were there, only confirmed that it was the right decision for us.
On the night we stayed, the rate was actually less then some of the lodges, plus with the guaranteed queen beds, free breakfast, indoor pool, internet and the usual comforts it was a great night.
We were lucky to get an early check in when we were arrived and a late check out the next day. Getting to the park was really easy, hotel staff was friendly and if you're an IHG member, you can earn points or even stay for free if you have enough points. Breakfast is served really early, and we were at the park by 7:30 in the morning - very easy to find parking and drive around and explore- at least in early April when we were there.
