Very close to the canyon!
Nice hotel that is very close to the Grand Canyon! Very close to gas stations and Tusayan. The hotel is excellent overall and serves great breakfast. I recommend this hotel for everyone travelling to the Grand Canyon.

Nice room and service
We highly recommend the Holiday Inn and Suites Express Grand Canyon. It is located very close to the south entrance to the park. The beds were comfortable and the service was consistently excellent. We had a problem with one of the outlets and the electrician was up immediately and kept us informed of the repair. Imelda at the breakfast bar is the sweetest and hardest working person I’ve ever seen in the hotel industry. She brightened our day every morning with her greetings and willingness to pack up a “to go” bag for us. A memorable experience to make our stay comfortable while visiting the Grand Canyon.

Close to canyon
Stayed here for 1 night as part of 2600 mile road trip.
Clean hotel. Pretty basic and a little dated but we were here to see the Grand Canyon so no big deal!
Breakfast buffet was chaotic and rammed with sightseers like ourselves in a pretty small area but food was ok...cinnamon buns were amazing!

Slightly amazing - best for families
I stayed here in August 2019 before spending the day at the Grand Canyon South Rim. It was a terrific choice for me, and I came away with appreciation for this hotel and the staff, and I will list the positives below. The staff here manage to control chaos - therefore, if you are looking for a quiet, controlled atmosphere, this is not the hotel for you.
1) This is the largest Holiday Inn Express I've stayed at - it is huge.
2) I arrived at 9:30 pm, and was still able to find parking in their lot.
3) The check-in staff was efficient and knew what they were about.
4) The breakfast area is controlled chaos. Every table will be full and still people will be in line for food. However, there is almost no wait for hot food - bacon, turkey sausage, sausage links, pancakes, scrambled eggs, etc. It was one of the most impressive things I've seen at a hotel. I'm used to dealing with disappointment when it comes to breakfast at hotels, but they kept the food supplied and coffee ready for what seemed like over 100 people.
So, yeah, I'm really impressed with their breakfast service. The rooms are fine, but probably getting a little old. But the breakfast is so good, and you are staying here to have close proximity to the Grand Canyon. It is the perfect way to start your day. :)
Also - I drove into the park around 9:30 am, and there was probably a 15 minute wait at the park entrance - be prepared!

Great Place to stay
Amazing rooms, good location and great breakfast. The staff is really polite and helpful, the place is really quiet and I can´t say anything bad about the hotel, if I have to say a "but" is that I couldn´t stay more ;) I hope I can stay again in this hotel.
Thank You very much!.
