Stayed here for 1 night 27th September, our last in Yellowstone (BOO!) Arrived as it was getting dark, check was good helpful and provided with a map and directions to the restaurant. Found Cabin fairly easily, cabin faces away from the road and onto a small green. The cabin is maintained quite well and all looked good. Inside we had 2 double beds, space is limited and no wardrobe space, really not a issue for 1 night if you were staying longer or you like to spread out, you maybe disappointed The room was clean and well decorated the bathroom was compact but had everything you needed, the sink was in the main room. There was a heater in both room & bathroom which were both effective. I'd be happy to stay here again maybe for slightly longer. .

We recently had a five day tour through Yellowstone National Park. We stayed at the cabins for three nights and ate at the restaurant for those three nights. Cabins were compact but not pokey. They were clean and catered to the three of our needs. The restaurant food was very fresh and plentiful. A much welcome end of our days tripping. I would highly recommend this place to stay when travelling through Yellowstone National Park.

Small but comfortable

We rented two cabins in late September. We had side by side cabins that had some grass right off the porch, which was nice for the grandkids to run around. The cabins are small with not much room between the bed and wall, but the bathroom was surprisingly a good size. It was also great having a porch and a couple chairs to sit outdoors. National Parks lodgings are bare bones, and this was no exception, but still very comfortable. We stayed here and at the Snow Lodge cabins one night later. We definitely liked the Mammoth cabin better.

Great Location, But Currently Undergoing Well Deserved Renovations

We visited Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel during its last few days in September 2018 before it closed for renovations. The hotel was worn and out-dated, and in need of renovations. There was no television, radio, coffee maker, etc. The air-conditioning consisted of opening the windows during the cool evenings. The bathroom fixtures were out-dated. The light switches were push button. We almost expected to see whale oil light fixtures. Nonetheless, the hotel still had its charms, making you feel like you were back in the time of the Great Gatsby. The map room containing a large wood carving wall map of the United States provided a cozy place to sit and relax, or to have a drink and listen to the piano player. And, the hotel was located a short walk from the hot springs or the museum and at a Yellowstone in a Day tour bus stop. From the hotel, we could easily make excursions within or without the park and could observe the elk strutting across the lawn. The Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel provides a good location for any visit to Yellowstone and it doubtless will be even better after renovations are completed.

Nice Surprise

We really didn't know what to expect with the cabin at Mammoth Hot Springs, but we were pleasantly surprised. The cabin was clean and somewhat updated and really not rustic at all. We aren't really cabin people, so having our own bathroom was very important. But the real surprise were the elk that would just wander through the front yard of the cabins - grazing and sleeping. It was like our own live entertainment right outside of our door. My husband absolutely loved this experience.
