UnderCanvas Zion is about 12 miles from the main entrance to Zion, but within a 100 meters or so of a "back" entrance, allowing access to a variety of great hiking trails. Unfortunately, that is where the positives stop. Glamping at this place means a tent with a bed, and a couple of chairish things. During our visit, temperatures were in the 30's at night. We had a wood stove for heat, which we figured out after 4 days. No electricity, rather if you asked USB batteries were available, as were battery driven lanterns (standard room items). Mediocre (being very generous) food was available, albeit significantly overpriced. Staff were generally nice, although new and very uneven in quality - those present on the weekend of our arrival were terrific, but a very significant dropoff occurred thereafter. Finally, while common areas were available, guests were, in our opinion, not welcomed there save for breakfast and dinner hours. Finally, while the no wireless thing is understandable, my wife and I visited while the covid nightmare began. Trying to change our flights (there is minimal/no cell connectivity), we asked to be able to use the wireless, given that the staff seemed to spend significant amounts of time on the network during the day. We were refused, and told that we could drive off premises if we needed a better signal. In summary, given the prices charged, the staff, the mediocre food and accommodations, in my opinion, one would be much better off investing in a really nice, big tent, and great sleeping equipment (maybe even a little heater) rather than going to undercanvas zion. We will never go to one of this company's sites again.

Expected MUCH more for the Price...

The staff was polite and the expereince was okay. The service was disappointing and we will not stay here again, which is sad because the location is beyond beautuful! This was our first time glamping and we were so excited. The let down was fast and hard.

My husband, son, our doggie Eleanor, and myself, stayed for 2 nights beginning on the opening night of Zions 2020 season. This was my husband and sons first time staying at an UnderCanvas camp. I have previously stayed at the Yellowstone camp and loved it! So WOW! That was literally what came out of all 3 of our mouths as we drove up to the entrance. What a breathtaking location!!! Our checkin process was fast and efficient, and the front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. The guys were so stoked to check out the tent and adjacent hive we had reserved. They were not disappointed. Our tents were clean, had all the stuff we needed,(chargers, lanterns, fire starters, and plenty of towels and toiletries). The night we arrived was a breathtaking night. We ate at the restaurant on site, Embers and we all thought it was delicious! (BTW what is in the ketchup, it’s soooo good)!? Unfortunately it rained late that night while slept, and pretty much continued to until we left early Saturday morning. Even in the rain and mud it was still so cozy and gorgeous. Friday night they had music in the lobby. It was such a nice communal feeling, and we brought our doggie down and she loved it! We would very much like to come back during the summer months so that we can do more hiking and exploring of ZNP. UnderCanvas knocked another stay with them out of the park!!!!! Also my hubby wants me to add he loves the fire pit up top! I think he may need to build one at our home in Wisconsin!

Loved this experience!

I stayed one night at Under Canvas Zion on my way through Zion NP. My over ambitious driving itinerary (coming all the way from a day in Death Valley) meant I arrived in the dark. (sad to have missed sunset). There is a big town (Hurricane) nearby en route to the camp. A sign or too would be good for those of us arriving after dark and with a sat nav dropping in and out.. a bit hair raising. Once I arrived though staff were friendly and efficient and quickly showed me to my glamping tent. This was my first experience of glamping and I was impressed! The bed was more comfortable than many 5 star hotels I had experienced. The wood burner (which the staff helped to light) was very efficient (almost too hot). It wasn't really needed in October but I guess you can't not light it ;) The short walk to the toilet/ shower was fine. The toilet and shower was very small but clean. There were not a lot of toilets/showers to share amongst all guests. My tent was by the path to the toilet so a little noisy at bed time. After a great sleep I unzipped my tent the next morning and was met with spectacular views of Zion. The location really was spectacular. Breakfast was good. Staff overall were great.. but there was a seasonal/transitional/here for a short time vibe. The only criticism was the placement of the toilet block- right in front of the restaurant/deck area. So we all looked onto everyone queing for the toilets while we ate our breakfast. Then I set off into Zion National Park which was not too far away from the camp ground. I would definitely stay here again. One night was not enough. Don't hesitate booking this- it is worth the location and memory. Note: no internet or mobile reception (with my provider), but there is a charging battery in the tent.

Incredible stay

We stayed at Under Canvas Zion and it was absolutely amazing. The views are incredible. The tents were cozy yet spacious. The bed was better than most hotels I’ve stayed in, tons of blankets and pillows. I slept like a baby despite the 22* weather outside. The staff was friendly, attentive and always available. The lobby was fun, energetic and had good food, a fire pit and lots of games. You are just minutes from some of the best hikes in Zion but can also sit on your own porch drinking coffee watching the sun rise. I could go on with all the things I loved about our stay. I’d love to come back and would splurge on a tent with a bathroom just to have a tub in the tent. Highly recommended.
