More family friendly than for couples
The setting is beautiful and the tents are amazing. It’s wonderful to have a suite and have your own toilet and shower. The bed may be one of the most comfortable I’ve stayed in! The negatives for us were enough that we wont stay again. We were woken at 6 am to screaming children. It is very family friendly but tents are close enough that you can here each other and even the zipper for the tent opening or closing. The restaurant is very basic. The superfood salad seemed like the kale salad from Sam’s with some quinoa added for $13. Also it is not open during the middle of the day where it would be nice to get a snack or a drink if you get back from hiking etc earlier than 5pm when it opens. Being so family friendly it is hard to find an area where you can enjoy some adult piece and quiet but still be social.
The staff was wonderful. Very helpful! We were unfortunately there for a night of rain and they were great about trying keep everything dry. The following night was gorgeous but the winds were so loud that we couldn’t sleep.
We had the stargazer tent...which in theory was wonderful but in reality not worth it for us. I’m not sure if it would be different another time but we were there was a night of rain then a full moon and it was so bright and stars couldn’t be seen that easily from the stargazer. The moon was gorgeous but I’m not sure the extra money for the stargazer is worth it. The suite definitely is.
I don’t mean this to be a negative review. I just would have liked to know how family friendly etc

This was our first ever glamping experience. We stayed, with our 10 & 13 year old boys in a deluxe tent with adjacent hive, which is basically a tepee for the kids. The location, setting, views are incredible. Decent food in the mess hall, but could really do with a good coffee machine. Nice to have a wood burning stove in the tent as chilly at night. It rained one of our two nights and the tepee leaked badly. Quite a few large holes in the tent and zips that didn’t close, so unwelcome guests in the form of bugs in the room / towels etc... not great when there are tarantulas wandering around. Staff were friendly and helpful. Being right on the edge of the park was the highlight.

Such a cool place!
We had an amazing time at Under Canvas Zion! Everything at this tented camp was spectacular. The location, the room & the bed were so comfy. We would definitely stay with Under Canvas again. We were there in summer so really had no need for the fireplace, but I bet that would be really cool. We had the indoor bath and shower--it was really nice. We took advantage of hotel booking options and did a horseback riding trip, a private hike and also road the Razers through the desert. We pre-booked through the hotel so they took care of everything. We packed a lot in and it was worth it! If you have the chance to go--GOOOO!!!

Clamping In Zion
At the end of our cross country road trip, my wife and I spent our last travel night at "Under Canvas Zion" and are very glad we did. After a day of hiking and sight seeing in Zion National Park we checked in to Under Canvas. We were greeted by a gracious staff in a tent / lobby and shown to our Tent. Now I must say this is not for everyone but if you like nature but don't want to rough it Under Canvas is it. Our tent had toilet, sink and shower. We also had a wood burning Franklin stove with heated the tent wonderfully and a half dome clear roof over the head of our king size, very comfortable, bed so we could look up at the stars while still in our cozy tent. They are solar powered and environmentally efficient. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in the big tent and supplied marshmallows , chocolate and graham crackers for Somores at the communal fire. Not for everyone / definitely for us.

One of a kind family experience
Awesome family experience - fabulous staff that always had an answer or solution for everything, even when my daughter left her stuffed animal in the tent - they are shipping it to us. The food is awesome and god-send in the middle of nowhere in Zion - and truly top notch and fast given the small operation. The tents are cozy and just one of a kind - even got extra fleece blanket as ours had no oven b/c of the 4 beds in them. It got a bit stormy and windy at night but that added to the experience. Bathroom clean and hot showers with towels - for glamping, serious plus. The best part is the overall community experience at night, no wifi, no signal, just board games around fire pit with music and other guests. Can't beat that - and s'mores for everyone... Thumbs up all around !
