Although this hotel does not have a pool for the kids, it really was my favorite out of 5 different hotels. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony at night and looking at the stars. Even saw a comet/falling star. There was an outdoor movie for those who wanted to watch. I just enjoyed the quiet of the balcony area.

Stayed here with my partner in May 2019 on a detour from Route 66. Stayed in one of the wooden cabins. Absolutely lovely and spotlessly clean throughout. There is no TV but when you can sit on the porch and watch the sundown, who needs a TV. If your passing through you must stay here. If offered between a hotel room or cabin, hotel rooms which are a similar view but would be slightly more elevated and further away, take the cabin. There’s an up close and personal feeling from the cabins. And the view, well what can I say.....?!

Lives up to its name

After arriving in Monument Valley midday and spending the afternoon touring the park, we were thankful to have a room reserved so we could go right away and shower the dust off before dinner. Note: we received a coupon at check in for the gift shop, so don't buy before checking in. Thankfully, a helpful gift shop employee told us this before we purchased and held our items until we had the coupon. Anyway, back to the hotel. The room was comfortable, clean, and a decent size. But as the name implies, the reason to stay is for the views. We sat on the private balcony and enjoyed both sunset and sunrise. My only minor complaint was there was only one small elevator. During prime check out time, it was difficult to get an elevator, which was needed for carrying luggage. The rest of the time, the convenient stairs were fine for use.

Interesting place

In the middle of monument valley and a very long drive The surroundings are spectacular and the views from the rooms are amazing. The rooms are comfortable with a balcony and has everything you might need except an iron The restaurant is nice but gets busy

Lovely hotel, great location and staff, but small rooms

We had a really great time at the View Inn. The hotel is fairly new, well appointed, well maintained and in a great location. If you are visiting Monument Valley, it is unquestionably the best location and the best choice. After queuing to pay your $10 pp entrance to the Navajo nation, there is another queue at the hotel to checkin soon after the 4pm watershed, but the smiling Navajo clerks are efficient and friendly. We booked a driver room overlooking the car park, rather than the Valley, which was a tad cramped mainly because they had placed the bed on the wrong wall to accommodate a mirror. The queen bed was also a little short and closet space is very limited but the bathroom is OK. The hotel accommodates a trading post where they sell all manner of Native American pottery, silvery and other artefacts. At checkin, each guest receives a $20 voucher to spend at the trading post where they also receive a 10% discount. outside, besides the extensive car park, there is a terrace for viewing the valley until sundown about 8.30pm when it is still warm. After dark, they also usually show a movie projected on to a wall out on the terrace. The hotel also hosts a reasonably priced restaurant but watch out for the enormous entrees (enough for 4 people) and the absence of any alcohol. The first night I had a ground lamb dish with enough grilled bread for a week. Needless to say, I had to waste most of it. Apparently, staff are familiar with the waste issue. The second night, I was better prepared and shared a chicken and cheese quesadilla with my wife. At breakfast it's usually possible to get a table overlooking the Valley but the food is not great. Sugary cereals (but there is oatmeal), fresh and canned fruit, sugared yoghurt, fatty bacon, overcooked scrambled egg and sugary bread - in short, the usual breakfast fare at most US hotels. None of this spoilt our stay at the View and if we return to Monument Valley we would certainly stay there again - and we would certainly take our Mystery and Sunset tours with Dineh Bekeyah Tours. It's a wonderful location.
