I can't speak for the hotel rooms, but we stayed in Cabin 2 with an unobstructed view. Very cute cabin with a couch, small table, kitchen area, twin beds, bath, and a queen bedroom. We enjoyed sitting out on the private balcony watching the sunrise each morning.

The hotel rooms at the view are very clean and nice with all the expected amenities, but are basic hotel rooms--two beds and a bathroom. But ALL of them have a balcony which faces out towards Monument Valley--so you can sit on your personal balcony and watch the sunrise and sunset on the buttes. Or you can set up your tripod and click away to your heart's desire. The hotel also built so that it blends into the surrounding terrain, it's not an eye sore out in the middle of the desert.

Don't stay here if you are driving an electric car!

We rented a cabin at the View. When I called to reserve the cabin I told them I had an electric car and asked if they had a charger. They said yes. When we arrived to check in I asked about the charger and they said they didn't have any! We had to charge the car. A nice security man lent us a 110 extension cord, which didn't charge enough, but he told us to go to Gouldings and hook up to their 220 at their campground. The cabins are nice, but I felt like I was lied to about the charger, so that affected my experience in a negative way. The View has a campground but there are no hookups. There is a 220 at several of the cabins, but they DON'T WORK!!! Unbelievable. All they have to do to attract electric vehicle owners is to turn those on, but apparently they are not set up to do that, and no one has any information!

The hotel was better than I expected. Mini fridge, microwave, safe, blow dryer in the bath. Even a Keurig! Very comfortable room. Unfortunately when I booked they only had first floor rooms open. The view was great, so the upper floors would amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food at the restaurant was pretty good and the prices were good. Of course no alcohol, bring your own. Bring all your camera gear, you will need it.

Outstanding!!

We are very glad we stayed here. Our view of the valley was clearly worth the price of admission. We had a nice balcony that we used several times to see not only the sunset but also the sun rise. Spectacular! The only down side was it was a full moon so star gazing was out of the question. Nice clean room that also came with a discount to the shop next door which was appreciated. They even showed a John Wayne movie at night on the side of the building!! Get a reservation to stay here.
