As its name suggests the views from the hotel rooms and restaurant are spectacular. The payment in advance policy and the fact that it's the only hotel made me a bit nervous but everything was fine. A tiny bit pricey, but worth it.

I was really impressed by the professional way this hotel is run, given that it’s independent and has little nearby competition. It was so clean, so well kept and the room we had was spacious. The balcony views can’t be beat. I loved the Keurig with Starbucks k-cups. Our stay came with a gift certificate for the attached gift shop, which we were excited to use. There’s a complimentary continental breakfast that was perfectly acceptable for us — hot oatmeal, cereals, pastries, yogurt. I highly recommend staying here!

We stayed here for one night. We arrived just after lunch and did a wonderful driving tour around the rock formations, with lots of photo stops. The sun sets early in November, so gorgeous colour changes as we drove back to the hotel. We found our 2nd floor room to have a great view, and it would have been lovely to sit on our balcony with a glass of wine and soak it all up, never mind a cup of tea sufficed! ( BYO kettle etc!). The decor of the rooms and lobby reflects the Navajo culture, as does the fairly ordinary food in the restaurant.

Great desert landscape on a Navajo Reservation !

If you enjoy desert scenery this is the hotel for you. Each room is facing what is probably one of the most famous landscapes in the United States. The hotel has a fantastic lobby, a restaurant and large gift shop. Since this is an Indian Reservation they do not serve alcoholic beverages in the restaurant. I don't know if it's allowed but I would bring what I wanted with me the next time, there is a refrigerator and microwave in each room. I was alone on this trip so I spent two days and that was enough to see the park from the 17 mile road. If it had been warmer and I was with someone I would have spent more time possibly taking a horseback trip into the interior. There is nothing else to do here so plan how much time you want to spend accordingly. Remember this is in North Arizona and the weather can change quickly. The forecast when I left was 6-12 inches of snow, ice and high winds.

We booked the hotel directly and our booking was taken quickly and efficiently over the phone. The hotel is situated with unobstructed views of the Mittens and valley . They also have cabins available situated away from the actual hotel but within a very short drive or possibly walking distance . This is the only hotel with this awesome view. We booked a ground floor room #122 ( valley view room I think). To be fair they would all have an awesome view! Would be very happy to stay on this level again. The rooms were warm and spacious. Coffee machine, tv, heating . spacious bathrooms with shower over bath, toilet and vanity. Wifi. Comfortable queen beds. Balcony with stunning view to the Mittens, and the night sky from all rooms. Although the 3rd floor has no obstructions for the sky view I believe. The hotel had a restaurant (not huge) which served Mexican style food. Not expensive ,huge servings. There was also a small shop which served tea/coffee other foods. (They were closed at night so could sorry not sure of food items. ) A large gift shop selling a nice mixture of local arts and craft, along with their souvenirs. Large public viewing area of the Mittens. Anyone is able to go to the hotel for the views, so I would expect in peak season to be very busy. We would certainly stay here again should we visit Monument Valley again. No alcohol served at hotel . Photo 1 and 2 dusk Photo 8 shows the 3 level hotel Photo 9 shows the cabins Photo 10. Morning sunrise .
