Affordable Inn with interesting grounds and reasonable cafe/gas

We chose Longstreet Inn as a base for exploring Death Valley National Park. It is about a 30-40 minutes drive outside of the park but it was a reasonable tradeoff as the cost for accommodations/food/gas was lot lower than staying within the park. The room was not fancy but was clean and adequate. The AC and shower worked great but the bathroom fan was a bit noisy. Otherwise, the grounds were beautiful with a small lake with lakeside gazebo, sculptures, a chapel, swimming pool(not heated when we were there) and jacuzzi. There were even some farm animals, and huge statues of a dairy cow and a pig! The petrol price was about half of that in the national park. The prices at the on-site mart and restaurant were very reasonable, and they have Taco Tuesdays when you can get 3 tacos with rice and beans for less than $10! Be sure to visit Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge near the resort as the park has crystal clear pools where you can see pup fishes which are found only in the Death Valley areas.

3 night stay. Junior suite. Spacious room. Bathroom was pretty outdated, and if your average height, you will be ducking the shower head! Clean and comfortable. No housekeeping. The band aid taped to the back of the main door was a bit odd (maybe previous guest put it there and it wasn't noticed upon cleaning?) Small patio facing west over looking the pond. The Inn's grounds were very cute. The restaurant on site was good with ample portions. On site convenience store was nice to stock up on your hiking supplies. The gas pumps outside will be the cheapest gas you'll find in that area! Nice pool and large hot tub tho the jets were not working properly. Go pet the goat, he (she?) is super friendly! We didn't gamble in the small casino. Overall a fine stay and would stay again due to the convenience of Death Valley.

Though in the middle of nowhere, this casino motel is well run, clean and affordable. Great if you want to experience Death Valley without paying to stay inside the park. The staff was super friendly, the cafe inside was surprisingly tasty and our clothes did not smell of smoke after being downstairs.

Great staff, tacky decor, fairly close to the park

Probably a wonderful place for RVs, as they have a convenience mart, gas, restaurant, showers, laundry and bar. We stayed in a room, which was large, but you can hear the neighbors through the suite door and we could have used a thicker blanket. Decent beers on tap, although we took them back to our rooms as smoking is common at the bar. The staff is wonderfully friendly, even in the early morning. Not a bad distance from the park.
