You can't beat the price for this place. Being that it's in a small town. I didn't reserve my room in advance. I just rolled up that night and got my room. The staff was very friendly. I like the look of the place. The outside made to look futuristic with the UFO/Alien theme. But that's not why I booked. The reviews here made me stop. For the most part, it was fine. I understand you get what you pay for. Only two things that bugged me. The dust and the bed. I didn't mind the decor. Kinda outdated, but that's not why I book these type of small town hotels. I want comfort, sleep and quiet. 1 out of 3 ain't bad. Very quiet for me. (ROOM 30 - 2nd row - corner room). It wasn't too booked. I believe no one was staying next to me or across from me. The beds need to be address. Not comfortable. Too firm for my taste. They are certainly big enough. Tossed and turned all night. I got enough sleep to function the next day, but it wasn't comfortable sleep. The room was a little dusty. But that's not too big an issue with me. The bathroom was clean. Big enough shower and enough towels for my one night stay. Again, great price. They offer coffee & oatmeal in the AM! Oh and the iron rod steps leading up to room are kinda janky. Some might say it adds charm but the iron steps wobble as you're trying to open door (which they still use an actual key). Low key concern. Just an observation. The room came with the usual stuff; Refrigerator, microwave & TV. I really would have no problem staying here again. You could do A LOT worse! Just work on those beds please!

I’ve stayed in three locations now in Beatty and I must admit I like this one the best, because if it’s off Highway quiet location. People in the office were very nice to me over the phone helping me with the reservation and my unique request to be able to park near the room. Simple and clean accommodations.

Convenient & Comfortable

I stayed here while on a photo trip at Death Valley. The hotel is clean, comfortable and convenient to DV (30-45 minutes or more, depending on your exact destination). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The quirk motif is fun, which is one reason I picked. No complaints for the cost...just what I needed!

Friendly and helpful office staff. Quiet and clean for a short stay

We stayed here for two nights. Pros: 1) I've already mentioned the office staff. 2) The room was large enough for the two of us. 3) I appreciated having the sink separate from the toilet and shower area. 4) Nice selection of teas available in the office. 5) Easy drive to Death Valley National Park. 6) Very close to Gema's Wagon Wheel Cafe and Happy Burro Bar and Grill. 7) The theme is cute but not overplayed. 8) WiFi was strong. Cons: 1) No shampoo or hairdryer in the room, although the office provided them when asked. 2) Refrigerator in the room, even when set to the lowest setting, froze our food. 3) No housekeeping service after the first night, so the single trashcan in our room was very full. 4) One lamp's light bulb was out, although the office provided a replacement when asked. In summary, this is an ok place to stay and cheaper than a lot of other options, hence the average rating.

We spent 4 comfy nights here and were pleased with our basic room and accomodations. You can enjoy coffee and oatmeal in the lobby while conversing with the motel's interesting proprietor (she has good insights on many local sights/options). Good location to walk to some good restaurants (LFW and The Happy Burro). Try it, you'll like it!
