For the money, it should be alot better. Almost $70 in the dead of winter. The bed is nice, at least in my room. The furnishings are also nice...mid century kitsch...I like it. However, the carpet is worn...some stains on chairs. TV worked and has sat reception. My main beef is...the heater is an electric resistance type sitting on the floor...and does not heat too well. Shower was cold, not the water, the room. Maybe nicer in the summer.

Clean but distressingly worn

Grounds are cute, but the room was constructed and maintained in a very slapdash manner: old thin paneling with finish coming off, trim that looked chewed rather than cut, fixtures that don't work. It seems rooms vary: ask to see yours before completing check-in.

Fun Concept but....

Check in seemed to be a group project amongst the three guys hanging out, a bit disjointed, finally accomplished. I loved the mid century decor and the few alien props are fun, but basics are certainly lacking. My trash can had no plastic liner, there was no bath mat and there was no shampoo. Bed was comfortable but box springs was stained and with holes. WiFi was excellent.

Fun place to stop for the night

We got in quite late from our drive across Death Valley, but we’re greeted warmly (including a plate of cookies). Our room was large with some lovely Art Deco themed furniture, the tv didn’t really work but that didn’t matter to us. The bed was palatial! I’ve never been so far from my husband but in the same bed! But it was comfy and we both slept well.

Cool place, cool people

I chose this hotel because of the reviews, I was not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were big and comfortable. and once the a/c ran for a while, it beat the august heat outside, no problem. I would definitely stay here again
