In search of a nice place to stay half way between Grand Junction, CO and Phoenix when we stumbled upon this gem in the desert. Nice, clean, sanitized rooms welcomed us. As we walked around back to the courtyard we found a beautiful porch. Inside a heated pool with views of the nearby rock formations. Behind that is a porch with a bar for better times. We came back and stayed again. I’m so happy we found this place.

luxe for the area, nicely done mostly with some real head scratchers
Went during off season. Asked twice if there would be a restaurant open in town and they said absolutely. Well there wasn't. The only option was the gas station. You can't charge what they charge and not provide food.
Also, on a two week roadtrip with many motels, their mattress was the worst by far. Really bad. And, whoever made the beds (two) didn't put the bottom sheet on correctly so the sheet popped off at the corners. We had to remake the beds in the middle of the night.

So many seedy motels on the road before arriving that I was scared of what we were going to get here!
After a day visiting Monument Valley, we're on our way to our hotel in bluff. When I look at the gps, I blew up my usa phone plan : 120 euros ! Glups!
But I get lost there, I see that the hotel is 25 mn away from the place. Well, I'm in the wrong city, so let's go.
On the way, we pass a few seedy motels and I start to get scared... We arrive at night. In the distance, we see the lights of the hotel. Sifted, scattered, discreet... makes you want to venture there. We are greeted by a young and invested woman. The room is pretty, two double beds, not very big but everything is well thought out.
We settle down and visit the place. As we walk around the building, we see a pretty garden, surprised by the desert, and another building. And in there, what a surprise!
A huge and warm room with large armchairs, moleskin sofas, giant fireplace, library, wood and stone decorations. It is magnificent ! Continuing a little further on, you push a glass door and enter a warm room, with indirect warm light that light a very large heated swimming pool and a jacuzzi.
We are alone, we've got the whole room for the four of us. What an evening!
I chose this hotel to be my favorite of this 15 days trip in the usa.

Beware the lighting
Overall nice rooms and food. Landscaping that is overboard and in poor taste for the gorgeous surroundings. NIGHT LIGHTS horribly bright completely blocking out the night sky and making the motel look garish.

Just really nice.....
Bluff is in the middle of nowhere in southern UT, and it's got the Desert Rose. Everything about the Desert Rose is just ... really nice. Really clean. Really quiet. Thoughtful coffee/tea station in the main lobby, and really nice secondary lobby. Nice basic workout room. Really nice pool area (indoor) with a great view. Comfortable rooms with good TV, closet space, and dresser. Just nice. Would definitely stay here again, but probably upgrade to one of the cabins or more deluxe rooms.
