Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Cabins is an elegant getaway reminiscent of the 1920s. It is listed on the park's Register of Historic Places as the oldest standing Yellowstone hotel.
The hotel is situated on the shore of dazzling Yellowstone Lake, which radiates through the picturesque windows. Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Cabins has stayed true to its old-fashioned roots by incorporating charming interior furnishings with a colonial-style exterior. The building is painted a fitting golden yellow inside and out.
The hotel's main building has a large dining room and a Sun Room with piano or chamber music performances at night, adding to the classic ambiance. Some of the rooms and pine cabins have recently been renovated. There is a cozy bar in the lobby, and a delicatessen on site. The lobby also has an impressive gift shop with unique items not found anywhere else in the park.
Lake Yellowstone Hotel and Cabins is a non-smoking establishment. It is open mid-May to October (pending National Park service approval.) Radio, television, and Internet hook-ups are not available in order to accentuate the natural essence of Yellowstone.
